What's up next for Version 1/2/3 stuff?
Added 2020-08-15 11:03:04 +0000 UTCHey guys, it's Rocco! For the past couple of Friday's, we have intended to release more stuff from the Version 1/2/3 archives for everyone on Tier 2 and up. However, we changed all our hardware and setup around recently, so we're still kinda re-connecting everything... Long and short of it is, we're just a little behind. But once we start getting this kinda stuff uploaded again...what do you want to see next, and how do you want to see it?
We have lots of bonus video content from the Version 1 era, commentaries for all the episodes, and more- Our plan is to trickle that out starting very shortly. We have a lot of questions on how to deliver that, especially the episode commentaries. How would you like these delivered? (We're doing this poll for the sake of information- we may not necessarily be able to adhere to whatever the results are, just FYI)
Let us know your thoughts. If you have any more detailed thoughts on what could be released, let us know in the comments too.
Thanks,
Rocco

Thanks- yeah, these things are definitely a product of another time. We appreciate the kind words- there's stuff we've been asked to remove and stuff that HAS to be for various reasons, but nothing major is going to be lost on these.

2020-08-20 23:31:44 +0000 UTCI'd love to see Version 2 and 3 first Then go back and upload commentaries. Most of my favorite one off jokes are extremely off color nowadays. What I find unoffensive someone else would. Basically, I wanted to say I understand if you have to censor or edit some jokes. I would prefer not, but I still have my DVDs and BluRays. Don't let any of the angry mob claiming "CENSORSHIP" discourage you from making changes. :)

2020-08-17 20:17:03 +0000 UTC.MKV format will be able to have multiple audio tracks and plays in VLC natively. I believe .AVI as well. I have some foreign films and some Anime with dual audio tracks in both those formats.

2020-08-17 20:14:05 +0000 UTCI am interested in both, but I guess I rather see Version 2 first. The commentary tracks can be a nice way to go back to Version 1 later on.

2020-08-16 16:46:01 +0000 UTCVersion 1 has like 5 different fantastic commentaries, would you guys be doing them one a week or dropping several at a time?

2020-08-16 01:37:34 +0000 UTCYou would think that sort of thing would be supported by now -- feels like a huge oversight to me.

2020-08-15 22:44:16 +0000 UTCI think we are kinda splitting the difference on these- each Version release with some extras in between.

2020-08-15 22:17:02 +0000 UTCYeah we won’t release those particular commentaries until it’s appropriate

2020-08-15 22:16:49 +0000 UTCWe found the same thing. Isn’t that nuts?

2020-08-15 22:15:43 +0000 UTCWe are kinda going to do this

2020-08-15 22:15:09 +0000 UTCI’d prefer the versions release first and then commentary for each version, but if y’all do commentary first I’d rather the videos with commentary. Easier for mobile viewers who can’t just open up two tabs at once

2020-08-15 19:17:30 +0000 UTCI agree with this sentiment as well. YouTube would be MUCH better than Vimeo for these videos. While I understand the security issue, just wanted to throw my 2 cents. Vimeo doesn’t let me airplay or chromecast to my tv in my living room, making my only option my phone or desktop pc.

2020-08-15 17:24:40 +0000 UTCVimeo seems to allow for embedding restrictions, so they have to be viewed on Patreon, meaning people have to be paying and logged in to view them. The Youtube uploads are less secure.

2020-08-15 17:09:07 +0000 UTCWere you planning to do these all in completely chronological order? V1 > V1 Commentaries > V2 > V2 Commentaries > V1 Special Edition Commentaries? My preference would be all the versions in order, and then all the commentary tracks and bonus features after that. I don't think this poll works, because two of the options are technical and one of them is just about priority. But on the technical side, I think videos would be better because then people wouldn't have to mess around with two separate applications to play them.

2020-08-15 17:08:13 +0000 UTCAs someone who owns all the versions already, I’m not personally interested in the commentaries. Much more interested in movie/game commentary vids :)

2020-08-15 17:07:48 +0000 UTCWhile I want commentaries, I do think the episodes do deserve to be seen in full, unless you want to paygate them behind the physical media prints. I guess you need to sell them somehow, after all.

2020-08-15 16:46:11 +0000 UTCI remember some of the commentaries have spoilers for future episodes; I think newcomers would appreciate it if you tagged those.

2020-08-15 16:08:28 +0000 UTCCommentaries would be dope as hell. Just any kind of context with them would be cool too

2020-08-15 15:25:03 +0000 UTCCan the videos be put on youtube instead of vimeo? I'm sure you have your reasons but wanted to check in case.

2020-08-15 12:48:53 +0000 UTCI did a little research on if any video hosts supported multiple audio tracks on a video. I surprisingly found nothing but it might be something interesting to keep in the back of your mind for the future.

2020-08-15 11:55:32 +0000 UTCI think it would make more sense to hold on releasing commentaries until either after the next version is uploaded so (v1, v2, v1 commentary, v3, v2 commentary) to space them out. But this would depend on how many commentaries you're planning on releasing since there are multiple per version
