Mega64 Patreon in 2021
Added 2021-01-02 01:23:24 +0000 UTCHappy new year from all of us at Mega64! We’ll be back in full swing soon- we’ll finally be catching up on the Friendimension, Movie Club, AND Version 2 episodes we couldn’t get done before our holiday plans were derailed (sorry again about that!). But we have some more fun bonus material coming in the next couple days- there’s a cut of a certain video nobody has ever seen (aside from a major corporation that rejected it) that you will get a kick out of.
For now though, we thought we’d take a minute to ask- what do you like about the Mega64 Patreon, and what do you not care for? What should we do more of, or less of? Is there something we haven’t done that you would like to see? We want your general feedback so that we can try to make it better. Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
DMs on Patreon are kind of unreliable, but our email (contact @ mega64 dot com) is always open if you want a more anonymous way to tell us this stuff too.

I'm happy with pretty much everything you guys have provided, I know it takes a lot of time to try providing all the extra stuff you throw our way. All I'd ask is to look into more mics for Friendimension or some kind of omni-directional setup, there were a lot of episodes this past year where people sitting in the back couldn't be heard as well as whomever was up close. Even then, not a huge deal.

Movie Club continues to be surprisingly awesome, Friendimension is always good, and still really hoping that someday the world will allow Heartslayers to come back... but nothing's been bad so far! You're all good at doing what you do, and I'm here for whatever that ends up being. hahaha

My only personal suggestion would be to do retrospectives on classic videos, almost like doing Movie Club but on your own content and offer behind the scenes details and fun stories. Keep up the fun work in 2021!

(Of course that's been harder to do lately!) And I do prefer the longer episodes, I like to throw them on when I make breakfast.

I’d feel greedy if spoilercasts were locked behind Patreon, I feel that’s something non-paying fans should be able to appreciate if it’s current media like The Mandalorian. Expectations wise for 2021? We know we get new podcasts on Sundays or Tuesdays, PPS on Wednesday, so something dropping on Patreon between Wednesday and Sunday would help fill the quiet Mega64 void that Quarantinecast was filling before the release schedule of that became ‘whenever’.

I think the best episodes are the bad games/jackbox games. Single player ones could be good as long as everyone's into it but choosing the opening of a JRPG is probably not gonna be great.

2021-01-02 05:28:28 +0000 UTCMy only real complaint is that Tier 3 Digital media isn't available in some other way eventually or able to be bought separately. I'd love to see that stuff released to tier 2 or 1 at a later time or just able to bought on it's own. Stuff like the media on those USB's you've sent out, behind the scenes, or the Game Crypt album. It just sucks missing cool media if you can't afford tier 3 forever. If there could be some way to get that at a later date or something then that would be perfect.

The MGSV one you guys did was really great especially seeing the passion Garrett and Rocco have for the series. Maybe even inviting other industry friends to talk about it too.

I'd love to see Shawn lead a podcast if he has time only bc he is the only one without a personal outlet in the gang. More wishful thinking but keep doing what you're doing and don't be afraid to experiment.

It's great as it is but it might be fun if you had an occasional guest - like if you watched a movie that someone else on the crew is already familiar with or maybe is interested in seeing you could invite them on to join in on the discussion. As for new stuff, have you considered a patron-exclusive discord server? I've seen a lot of patreon users having something like that as a low-tier reward, and it might feel like kind of a fun replacement for the 4ums.

I love extra behind-the-scenes and any unreleased/unreleasable videos, but I wouldn't want to rob the public channel of any good content. Perhaps some videos could be timed Patreon exclusives. Overall I'm happy with the amount of content currently coming out through the Patreon, and I'm worried any more might take away time from producing the public content. A regularly-updated Patreon Schedule image help. If it already exists, I'm not clear where it is. Right now it's hard to keep track of which months of subscription are tied to which packages, and when those packages are expected to ship out. Being from Canada I won't get anything until 2 months after shipping anyway, but it's good to know what's still in progress. The schedule could have Patreon video releases on it too. I think in general Mega64 fans are chill enough to not get up in arms if anything on the schedule is missed, but it would be really helpful to get a forecast once a month.
