If you're reading this, then it probably means that you have access to the Project Scowl script early. And, it also means I should probably explain the premise behind Project Scowl, and what the idea was all about.
To briefly summarise, The Boondocks had lost sight of what it was, and I was talking about this a lot with my partner in crime, Doryan. We felt like the comic strip had been neglected from its original style of being this "Black Peanuts" and transformed into Huey the Scowl, and his nigga family. We essentially wanted to reboot The Boondocks back to what it was originally all about.
Back when Huey had flaws. Back when Riley was a product of the culture, and produced the best and worst of it. Back when Caesar was a thing. And, back when Granddad was more of a parental figure. We wanted to take it back to basics. Find what The Boondocks had lost throughout the years.
This meant no Ruckus. Ruckus is nowhere to be found in this script.
It was intended to be used in a similar fashion to this Calvin and Hobbes animation I tweeted out a while ago. And if possible, which who knows, it might be. We wanted to pitch the product to Sony.
Now, I have no idea whether or not this script will ever be brought to life, due to a bunch of legal and personal reasons. However, what I can say is that this is the result of those internal conversations, and I hope you enjoy reading it early before everyone else.
Stay fresh.
