The next Operation Black Steel video I've been silently working on for the longest time, and in keeping with the idea of letting you guys have an idea of what I'm working on at all times, I'm currently working on it being about the Importance of Strategy.
Say, the Civil Rights Movement, Black Panther Party, etc. It's about this idea of institutionalized change, and how we, as people, can reach the public with mass-media and consumerism. In a capitalist corporate system, where people are willing to lie, steal and cheat to win, you gotta be ready to play the game to win if you want to see some actual change.
The picture you see above is from Aaron's speech to Black Youth on "Changing the Image" and how one goes about reaching these people. To go into abit of it, people pretend like you can't lean to the left side of politics and be rich or use these mass-media outlets to get a message across. Y'all seen The Network? The Matrix? Even a lot of the black movements were successful BECAUSE they used these outlets. And, just because the systems in place are corrupt and fucked up doesn't mean we can't still use them to spread awareness. It's all about being strategic, tactful and knowing how to be responsible with the line drawn.
To quote Aaron, "You're literally dancing with the devil." You just gotta know how to play the game, and not lose yourself to this profit driven system that sees us all as commodities. But, I digress.
And as for the music I've been listening to recently, it'd probably have to be stuff like Public Enemy and KRS-One. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_Jeyif7bB4
