The Free Huey World Report: Phony Presidency

This might come as a surprise to some people considering how recent these comic strips are, but I figured it would be a cool story to share. I'm a believer in the idea that this comic strip is, partially, inspired by the fact that Aaron was once asked by the Green Party to run for president.

He declined because he didn't really want to, and also because he was too young. The joke of Riley saying he should've run for president is possibly a reference to this. Aaron would go on about how there was an absence in black political leadership, and discussed how bad things would've had to be have been for them to ask him of all people to run for president.

Oh man, Vivca A. Fox. That's a whole other post.

Maybe I'll get into that next week.

He also brought into question the ridiculousness of being the president has more to do with how entertaining you are, as opposed to what you bring to the table. Ignoring the obvious jab I could take at Donald Trump, think about 2020 and 2024, with people like The Rock and Kanye West. You gotta be a moviestar or a celebrity to run for president nowadays.

It serves as a reminder that the president doesn't really have as much power as we think, and how they're more just a face. To word it like Aaron: "Just because you're a landlord doesn't mean you own the whole building."
