Samurai Champloo + Operation Black Steel
Added 2019-06-16 00:12:16 +0000 UTCI talked about this briefly on my Twitter feed, but I'm planning to discuss Samurai Champloo on one of the next Operation Black Steel episodes. Ideally, the next one or the one after. I want to explore the idea of cultural appropriation, and why the character of Mugen, while not black, speaks to many members in the black community.
Full disclosure, I love this anime. Beyond just it's soundtrack, it's truly a work of art. I love all of Watanabe's work, and I can't wait to watch Carol & Tuesday, with the black girl protagonist. More on that soon and in the future.
As for SpiderVerse? It's coming up on July 1st. Until then, all I can do is wait and work on other stuff.
