Added 2019-12-04 01:40:34 +0000 UTCI've been recently sharing a lot of stuff in regards to Jazmine Dubois on my socials. Clips, snippets, whathaveyou. Now, I was pretty excited to see this character announced in The Boondocks' Reboot return.
Something I saw people questioning was her purpose and whether or not she should even return if she has such a minor role in the series. Though, I think her role is pretty damn essential in not only how it helps frame Huey and Riley's character's respectively, but allowing us to see a different side of the character of Huey specifically.
And, as much as I love cool guy Caesar, Jazmine's role is far more important in terms of solidifying the kids as... well, kids, and the encompassing framing of this idea of 'ignorance being bliss.' In Matrix terms, she's a blue pill to Huey's red pill. More on this in the future.
