Action Plan/Monthly Bullet Points

Every time we deliver one of these I want to include a different message each time.

Outside my crude self depreciation, my mind jumped to the Black Panther Party and how they handled the 10 Point Program.

Should we do something similar? Any suggestions would be helpful.

And/or a great quote from that book.

I think a broad strokes summary of whichever book is included would be a good way to entice any would be readers.

Not full on de-radicalize, but then again, me just saying "not sound as radical" is flat out a different way of saying de-radicalize in hindsight.

Newsletter? Oh man, that opens a whole can of worms.

Maybe a fun idea would be to include a Boondocks comic strip attached.

I don't want to de-radicalise it cause' then what's the point, right? I'm not opposed to making it fun though. In an ideal world, we make it fun and informative. Making it clear what we stand for/against and how to communicate that w/o being a downer is a balance important to strike.

I like the ten points idea, I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you printed it on the back of every 'newsletter'. I don't know how strenuous it might be, but maybe offer the space to community voices, a local classifieds for childcare needs or delivery of prescriptions. A hand-signed letter of love to recipients wouldn't hurt either...

The horoscope idea is really cool. I am excited to see where this initiative goes, and am eager to help. You may be in over your head, but if the seas get rough, I hope I and the others can help be here to keep you from going under. <3

Merry Christmas The idea of a guideline sounds interesting, but you're gonna have to not sound as radical, put some sugar in it to make the medicine go down easier. Something easier that could be done is to merely say good feel type of messages that don't sound like bs, but that runs into the possible problem of "what level what people will find as genuine and what is bs". It could be messages to tell the people receiving the food to spread the word on your food bank, but it's not like you need to do put only message on a piece of paper each time. Maybe each new paper has two messages on it, one saying some way the people getting the help can help make others within the community know of what you're doing, and also a point inspired by the Ten-Point Program. Somehow giving it a horoscope or fortune cookie appeal, but not so literally shallow as those former two can be. "And your lucky numbers are 10, 25, 33, 15, 19"

Alex

i think that would be a good idea, but i have no idea what would be on it
