This one’s definitely a dad vid Shawn

Mana Ellarina

Shawn I love these episodes with your family and I also really think you should invite Rocco's dad for one of these ;)

Anomaly

Love that Shawn is getting his family as guests for albums they love. Hope there's more of that in the future or just more guest episodes in general. (not that the solo ones are bad.)

Emma did a great job! It's interesting that "Taylor's Version" is what Shawn and Emma are referring to most of the time (and I'm sure it sounds basically the same) but I felt it necessary to listen to the original, just because *that* is what's on the Rolling Stone list. Not a Swiftie, regardless, but this took me back to 2012 for sure!

Burke

This was so good. The dynamic you two have is so great. The "DUDE" and look Emma gave you was priceless.

Thomas Hasse

But I wanna add that seeing you be a dad is always great so it's a fair trade

First album I didn't listen to. Just couldn't bring myself to do it. If it was half the length, or even just 40 minutes, maybe I could have justified it to myself. But I just couldn't do it this week

You can get the Long Pong Studio Sessions record off of the Discogs marketplace (basically a wiki-esque website that inventories every record, CD, cassette tape, etc ever pressed). The prices are still similar to what you would have paid in a store on Record Store Day, so it hasn't been significantly scalped.

well I am so it cancels out

Stephen H

don't read it

Emma did great! Awesome episode. I am not a tswifter either so this wasn’t really my thing but 22 does go hard and it was also fun to talk to my wife about this because she’s a swift nut too. But yeah it was pretty meh for me overall, 2/5 for me. What really surprised me was how good Stayin Alive actually is. It’s a song we’ve all heard a billion times but actively listening to it was like a different experience. That beat is so insane and the song definitely deserves to be a top 100 song of all time imo. So stoked for single digits next week. This will be the first album on this show that I am already familiar with prior to it being assigned.

Paul LoBue

Yeah, he’s doing the recently ‘revised’ list rolling stone made a few years ago where it seems like they took the original list and just hit “shuffle”. It’s really inconsistent.

Hawk9600

Not diggin this automatically generated text thing :/

Hawk9600

So cool that you had your daughter on! Emma did awesome 👍🤘

Jason

Emma was a great guest!

John Elizabeth Stintzi

NEXT WEEK’S GONNA RULE I had a feeling!! 💜🎸🏍️⭐️Thank you, Emma!

Stay Stay Stay sounded like a yogurt commercial or the royalty free music a youtuber puts in a wedding vlog

Welcome Emma!!! I really tried to set aside all preconceived notions for this one but I just was not in the right mindset for singer-songwriter-country-pop. This is super petty, but the way Taylor Swift pronounces trouble and never/ever really distracted me. She adds a few vowels or syllables or something so it sounds like ‘troubbool’ and ‘nevoor??’ Maybe this is a singing technique I am unfamiliar with. I listened to both the original release and Taylor’s version and found a few tracks to enjoy, though. I didn’t think the re-recorded version was very different, aside from her voice sounding more mature and confident. Also, I did create a Music League for anyone to join in. There’s an app and a website, if you get in and search ‘Unofficial Mega64 Record Club League’ it should pop up. I want to give anyone here the chance to sign up first and later it’ll go on the Mega64 subreddit.

Good album. Not my favourite she has released. There's a lot of country on here, which is fine since that's like her genesis or whatever but I'm much more into T.Swift when she goes full pop i.e. 22 Speaking of which, nothing more relatable at the moment for me than reminiscing about being 22 at 24 lol... Why do we gotta get old? 😪 ... Anyways. Stay Stay Stay is like, baby music. Worst song for me. I neglected listening to (Taylor's Version) so I'm unsure which is better. 💿💿💿/𝟓 Stayin' Alive is 💿💿💿💿💿💿/𝟓 Barry Gibb's silver jacket in the video is 𝟒𝟎 𝐱 💿/𝟓

Garrett Vacation 🔪💖🩸

Listened to this with my wife. Honestly didn't hate it as much as I thought I would. There are some bangers, but Swift's writing kinda occasionally makes me want to slam my head into a wall. Probably 2/5. But for real though, this Rolling Stones list sucks hard. This album is #99. Take a look at the albums 100-200 alone and see how many got shafted for this thing. I can understand maybe putting it in the 400s, but Jesus man. They took Frank Zappa off of this list in this version, but put this in the top 100?! Edit: to put it into perspective, The Wall by Pink Floyd is at 129.
