I hope you all are ready to dance this week with ABBA! It's another compellation which seems crazy to me but here we are. Eurovision expert Rachel Bushong joins me this week to talk about how ABBA got their start and what they are doing now. Hope you all TAKE A CHANCE ON ME and watch this one. ;)

While collections are bad for this list, you can never have too much ABBA. I don’t understand how anyone could dislike them. Really goes to show how nothing is for everyone I guess. But this is what fun music is to me. Most of this playlist are all bangers, so interesting in instrumental structure, and their vocal harmonies are fantastic sounding

It's not a greatest hits, it's a definitive collection!

Every time there's a new guest on this show I react like the Vince McMahon meme This is the first one I am just refusing to listen to. I know Abba, I get it, I don't need another compilation-structured slog.

Yknow I don't mind my fair share of ABBA, but this was a lot. There are a ton of songs on here that really don't need to be. If you look at the tracklist for ABBA Gold, it is much more focused on their better songs, and only like 77 minutes long. That's an acceptable amount of ABBA. I get the feeling that these insane compilation albums were put together purely to make money, and mayyyybe for archival purposes. I'd say a 3/5. Didn't absolutely hate it, just too many meh singles.

Welcome Rachel!! The ever-growing Record Club co-host roster is so rad! As for Abba, on first listen I thought ‘ok a li’l Abba goes a long way’ but then I pared down the playlist and listened to about an hour’s worth of tracks which was much more manageable and enjoyable. Favorite tracks are Summer Night City, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!, and Lay All Your Love On Me. While I think the compilation angle was bogus, I can’t deny how influential the group was. It seems like every other month there is a an Abba song trending on TikTok, as Rachel mentioned. And while only Abba-adjacent, I’m certain you all know “One Night in Bangkok” which was originally in the musical Chess. They also contributed vocals (and possibly some songwriting?) to one of my favorite musician’s 70s albums: Ted Gardestad. And who can forget A*Teens? That might be more my demographic, though. (I also have to give Abba a hand for helping me figure out a Eurovision finalist from the 60s I had been trying to identify for a while. It was two dopey looking dudes in tall riding boots and puffy jackets - turns out the song was called Jedan Dan. There’s like, a lute and flute and stuff.) Never listened to Tupac, should be good next week!

Apologies to all the abba nuts out there but 2+ hours of fucking abba was rough lmao. Also knocking another point for it being a compilation so it’s a 1/5 for me. Hope you can get 2pacs killer as a guest for the next episode

I love Record Club debuts. Welcome, Rachel! But, Uhm... this was too much ABBA for me. I would only revisit 3 or 4 songs out of 37, I didn't loathe any but I got extremely bored and this took me all week to get through once. Begging for these "collections" to fuck off. 💿.𝟓/𝟓
