2023-11-16 21:41:27 +0000 UTCJennie’s back! 🙌 I can appreciate what this album did for the industry - the release was so mind-blowing that as a result, new releases were changed from Tuesdays to Fridays! That’s the power of Beyonce, folks! …But I did not enjoy listening to it, much. I was trying to give it a fair shot and then Jay-Z’s line about Ike Turner came on and it really soured me on listening. Maybe it’s because of all the abusive relationship Celebrity Costumes this Halloween, maybe Tina Turner’s recent passing? It was a turn-off. Haunted, Blow, XO and Blue were the stand-outs for me. I’m Waiting For the Man still rules - it’s just so driving and anxious. Patti Smith is cool, her cover of Gloria is legendary - Jesus died for somebody’s sins but not mine.
