Presenting my copies, "Curwen" and "Whateley"
Added 2018-08-04 19:57:16 +0000 UTCIn making this book it occurred to me to actually bind two copies for myself, an aged but well preserved specimen (nicknamed the Curwen), and a worn, weathered, and damaged copy (the Whateley). I'm experimenting with a number of additional aging techniques that will make for fun posts down the road.
While I would NEVER advocate harming oneself, I did find a bit of red red krovvy on hand after a nail trimming accident and so I added it to the Whateley cover page. I look forward to seeing how it ages over the years.
And yes, I will be heavily damaging page 751 of the Whateley copy.

Blood certainly turns an unattractive dull brown over time, maybe eventually black. Hollywood lied!

2018-08-04 21:09:31 +0000 UTCIf I recall, as blood ages and oxidizes it darkens and eventually turns black. As per the rest of us, everyone that wants to stain their tome in a bit of vino needn't tolchock or knife anybody; check with the local butcher about getting animal blood, or something like that.
