Have no guilt over dumping the therapist. There’s a better one out there. I have had a couple therapists with panties in a bunch about rules, more than compassion or understanding, and it just leaves a bad taste. They never were good fits in retrospect.

2025-01-04 00:26:51 +0000 UTCGirl. Darby. Therapy thing. First of all part of the thing I see is that you’re dominant but you’re passive dominant- that’s not always easy for a therapist to handle. But any good therapist would identify this and know how to handle you. They’d ALSO know that coming you for being “sick” would trigger the fuck out of you (as it would me). If you and your therapist are connected they’re not going to do that- they know that you’re going through life and shit happens. Sometimes without 24 hours notice. Those policies are for CHRONIC no showers. My guess is she knew it would upset you and did it knowing that you’d probably stop seeing her over it. I’m sure she sensed you two were not vibing and that this would get you to break up with her. I’ll also tell ya as someone with the same therapist for 11 years and counting, remember that these are relationships like any others and require communication about your/their needs and expectations as well at times and to maintain a quality therapeutic connection you do need to be openly candid about what you feel your needs are if they’re not meeting them. Same for Alexis- she seems to really be growing through therapy. I hope she finds a new one if she dumps her current. Mental health is real and you girlies deserve so much happy 😃!

When in uncomfortable situations, like being asked personal questions, i know the "right" answers to resolve the conversation as quickly as possible. She is great at questioning my answers. Also just figured out shes married. She may have older kids, i have no clue. she is great at sharing personal stories without to much detail. Because we are there to treat me not her.
