Darby I have soo been there with a friend having what you think is not the best for them therapy wise and just trying to get them to understand that it can be better and they deserve better. You gotta let them come to that conclusion them selves... which sucks!

Like it’s bothering you because she’s not doing what you want her to do. Also I’ve had an amazing therapist for 12 years (after a lifetime of therapist swapping) and I think Alexis is right to try spinning this one issue into a form of personal growth. Therapy IS a self contained relationship and relationships take work too, especially if the results are evident. I see her improving too… And if the therapist has since stopped talking about herself mayyyyybe you need to stop trying to tell her how to have therapy. It’s one thing if she’s asking but she’s not… and she’s right- you (and us) are not in these appointments to be so judgmental. Maybe you should do an appointment with Alexis with this therapist and let her discuss it with you both together if you’re truly THIS worried about this and it’s been an ongoing concern. And maybe she’s NOT the one for Alexis but Alexis should come to that herself, that’s a huge part of the therapy journey… Only saying this cus you asked!! lol- and I Love you guys and Darby I know you mean well and want to protect and insulate Alexis but sometimes people need to make their own choices even if you see it could be a mistake. (I’ve been YOU in this situation and it’s something I’ve had to work out through therapy myself lol)

Unless Alexis herself finds her person unacceptable, it doesn't seem like anyone else should be able to cancel her. I personally feel like it's almost impossible to find the right one, so I wouldn't be eager to go searching for a new one based on anybody else's opinion but my own.

From what we saw, it was definitely one note and the impression was lacking. If she’s going for Audrey specifically, there was so much more she could have referenced besides the iconic “scissors” line reading. Ru didn’t play along at all, which is disappointing, but y’all are just stanning Suzie too hard to see the truth. Loved her runway though!

Consider this analogy: if you had a doctor who provided partial treatment, leaving you feeling only slightly better but never fully healed, you would likely view that as inadequate care. Why, then, should therapists not be held to the same standard of delivering comprehensive support and tangible progress?

I agree with the girls about the impersonation being good, but I didn't think the material was funny. More importantly though, she was not in the moment. It’s hard to start over if you’re putting pressure on yourself because you think you know what therapy is. No one knows until they do it. Therapy is an individual process which again means it’s tricky when others not in your process get involved even out of love. Peace.

2025-02-21 20:54:17 +0000 UTCI’ll play Bevels’s advocate here and say that sometimes staying with a mediocre therapist is better than having no therapist at all. I have an HMO that makes it really difficult to get a therapist in the first place if you aren’t naked in the middle of Santa Monica Blvd. holding a gun to your head. So, if you wind up with Narcissista McTalkey, LCSW, like Alexis did, and you finally get her to listen to you (which is VERY IMPRESSIVE self-advocacy work that, admittedly, would ideally be accomplished outside of the therapeutic relationship), it could be better to stick with her for a little while while you get yourself stabilized enough to go without a therapist for 3 to 29 months while you battle with Kaiser Permanente to find a new one that may or may not be just as bad as the previous one.

I can describe at least 4 of her other patients, and know her pet's names and behaviors, and her trans daughter's name, and cats and that she's moving to Seattle... so clearly, I know way too much about my therapist. But I've been seeing her for almost 2 years so I struggle with putting the hammer down and saying this needs to change. However, I also understand, if your car was not working, and you took it to the shop and the mechanic went on about others cars instead of fixing yours, you'd go to a new mechanic. Unfortunately no advice, but I do fully understand. As for the show, my interest in Drag Race has been waning over the past 4-5 years, I think this is the first season I've really been invested in, and that's likely cause I'm watching it with others, but I could easily see it being cut down to top 4 already because it's clear some of them are just not going to make it at this point. Maybe if there was a long break between airing like how Bimini changed it up with the covid break on UK S2, but yeah, I'm ready to trim the cast lol

Saying “Scthissors” over and over again. The accent was good but Ru couldn’t even understand what she was saying. There were so many things Suzie could have said to be at the top last week and she failed.
