Tablet Update

A friend offered to help attempt to fix the screen tablet. They have the tools to do so and the plan is to have it attempted this week at least in terms of soldering the charging port back into place and testing.
If it turns out to also be the charger as well, that will be $50-$80 for a new one.
If the battery is also shot that could be anywhere from $130-$200 to get another. they arent a common model and we had a heck of a time sourcing. My friend will see if there are other options.
In the mean time, it's been extremely hot here. Productivity has been slow due to this but on the bright side, my partner has set me up on their surface pro 6 and I've got it setup with what I need and after some fiddling with SAI, pressure sensitivity is working. The resolution on the program is ridiculously small but I cant fix a fix that works for that. I have most of the needed shortcuts down pat so overall I likely wont be an issue overall. It just looks wierd.
After doing a little test, immediately inking felt so much better. So I'm going to work on some content and see how it goes.
I've got my eyes on some potential replacements in the form of pen displays, not an actual tablet PC, if I need to do that. An artist friend has some older models they dont use and are willing to mail them to me so I'm figuring that out.
All in all, things are still slow but we're getting somewhere. I appreciate all of your patience. :)
