2022-08-09 23:21:22 +0000 UTCIVY: The first time I ever heard the song and now everytime I hear it all I think about is Tristan and Isolde, specifically the 2006 movie with James Franco and Sophia Myles. Based off old Celtic folklore a young knight is presumed dead and washes up on Irish shore. He falls in love with a woman who nurses him back to health. He eventually returns home to England. He enters a tournament on behalf of his beloved King to win the the hand(marriage) of an Irish princess. She is happy to reunited with him until she finds out that him winning means she will marry his King. Olden times duty and whatnot so she marries the King and he doesn't treat her bad but she still loves Tristan. They cant be together, treason and betrayal. Roots in my dreamland: she has a new life but her dreamland is the place they fell in love before she got married, I haven't seen the movie in a few years but I think a cottage by the sea where she helps him heal is the stone cottage. Plus she was all about not falling in love because she knew she would have to marry for love so cold and stone, but he brought her to life, ivy growing, changing the cottage. Also the begged and borrowed time could be because in the movie there were battles and feuds. Seriously if you are confused about this song watch that movie it will give you a whole new perspective.
