Chapter 4 polls overviews: your favorite girls

As a game dev, one of the most interesting things to read about is which girl is the favorite of a given player. It's super interesting how one player will say that girl X is super boring, while other will say that she’s the best girl. It makes me feel like I’m succeeding in writing characters that feel like different people, with different personalities, that are appealing to different people.

The fight for best girl after chapter 4 was tough and very close, with some exchanges of the 1st place, but, as of right now, Emma managed to claim the top spot.

From the 127 players that voted, 71 picked her as one of their favorite girls. The other close contender for the top place was Deb, being picked by 68 players. Just 3 votes of difference!

Emma – 71 votes from 127 players (56%)

Deb – 68 votes from 127 players (54%)

Next we have a close group with 4 girls relatively close together:

Lea – 47 votes from 127 players (37%)

Jen – 41 votes from 127 players (32%)

Kim – 41 votes from 127 players (32%)

Olivia – 34 votes from 127 players (27%)

And, finally, Bri is the Love Interest that features least among players favorite girls with just 11 votes.

Who is the MC falling in love with?

Funnily enough, when players need to pick just 1 girl to potentially end up with in a romantic relationship, like in the last choice of chapter 4, the results are slightly different:

Emma 32%

Deb 32%

Lea 16%

Jen 9%

Olivia 5%

Kim 3%

Bri 3%

The biggest difference is clearly Kim (and Olivia, or even Jen, to a certain extent) where very few players picked her as the girl the MC is falling in love with, even when she’s one of their favorite LI’s. Given her kinks, development and relationship with the MC, this is not particularly surprising. Same for Olivia, where she, right now, might be seen as a good LI to have fun with, but not necessarily to settle down with. Mostly because she’s still not that developed to the point that players are more certain to what to expect.

Jen’s case is more interesting, where she, a bit surprisingly to me I must say, is not being picked that much as the LI the MC is falling in love with. I think this is mostly due to, at this point, most of voters being on the submissive paths. And, in those paths, Jen might not be an interesting choice given that she isn’t a domme, but rather a sub. So, Deb and Emma, or even Lea, immerge as more natural choices in those paths.

On the other side of the coin we have Lea that defines herself as a clear 3rd place. I think this is because she has that vibe of the shy and sweet girl next door. That might make her more attractive as a girlfriend for anyone wanting a more romantic and sweet relationship, not based that much into more hardcore kinks. Either that or some of you really like exhibitionist girls :P

Bri as the least favorite girl

These polls, and also the comments, clearly show that Bri is the biggest shortcoming of the game so far, and that I really didn’t handle her that well. I still think she has some interesting paths ahead of her, and there are still enough players on her path to find them out and, hopefully, be pleasantly surprised by them. But this is far from ideal.

This is a complicated issue that deserves some proper discussion and brainstorming. Since this post is already getting quite big, I’ll leave that discussion to another.
