I don’t expect you or anyone to be where I am at for that reason among many others… I want your channel to do well and I’m hopeful you remain authentic while doing so. I’d like the “heritage/history of my family (birth and found) celebration” episode but I am willing to wait for it until when/if you want to do such a video authentically—even if that takes a decade (or 2).

2023-08-23 12:35:50 +0000 UTCKhadija I love your content and talent and I know your work takes a team, and I know you do this as an income source to make a living, so I don’t want to be someone trying to keep you from doing what you know feeds that dang persnickety algorithm… That said I’m feeling what slax dobbs and Khar are saying. The algorithm doesn’t push healthy, it pushes engagement, and it’s tough to put all of that work into something beautiful and truly helpful and then see it flop, or get attacked, is the impression I get as a fan of yours and content creators like you. I don’t know how much judging you deal with from the public at large (the negativity tends to be more aggressive and loud than the positivity I’d bet which is why I feel compelled to add my voice to the folks here on Patreon that actually care, even though I’d bet most are positive). As for what I would suggest instead: your recent Threads post about how to connect with your parents really hit a nerve in me… Not just about connecting with my own parents but about bridging generational and ideological gaps. You already try to do this and you may well intend to do so with the topics in your poll, but I have to say I would find your take (supported by research done by you and your team, of course) on how to bridge ideological gaps with intention to be well worth a view and a share. We won’t be able to do it all at once, or by ourselves, but anger and division can be spewed by anyone and from any ideological angle, and so can love and support. Really, really trying to view the world from another’s perspective to get to real empathy takes EFFORT, and too many get comfortable in bubbles (or scared to leave them or even look outside of them). So, I’m not asking for a video about your parents specifically… but I do not at all think that a video celebrating your parents and their stories would be at all a bad thing (and I do think your audience would love it, algorithms be damned).
