WEEKLY UPDATE #4: NEW PLAYTEST DATE, AUGUST 19TH!!
Added 2024-08-03 17:52:39 +0000 UTCwe are moving the playtest date back 10 days, BUT to make up for it, i'll let it run for a full week, instead of just the weekend! this is to avoid clashing with the 2XKO beta that will be running at the same time i originally planned (and to avoid smash con weekend). I have plans to allow more competitive players into this playtest, as well as get some streamers to participate. most of them will be playing 2XKO until their beta is over, or will be attending smash con that weekend, so it's better to just push back the playtest. my girlfriend is also headed out on a business trip next week, which means i'll probably lose a few days of work watching the puppy and taking care of everything else.
since this week was a short work week (the last update was monday), and since i knew i would be pushing back the playtest, i took the few days to continue work on character #5, who i'm very confident will be revealed this month now. i also blocked out the aether 2.0 stage, which will be a neon city/cyberpunk themed. really looking forward to fleshing that one out!
David fixed THE MOST ANNOYING BUG IN THE WHOLE GAME!! in quickplay, if you selected a character too fast, sometimes the game would give you random characters when the match started. this is FINALLY fixed and the online experience should be much more enjoyable during the next playtest. the last online bug to fix is chronos grenade desyncing the game sometimes, so we'll try to knock that out in the next 2 weeks! (and hopefully micwizard doesn't cause a million desyncs).
sorry for the not-so-exciting updates recently, but i think it will be worth it once character #5 is revealed, and once the playtest roles around. as always, thank you for supporting stickfigurez!
