Our main character is going on their supposed "date", totally not thinking about how long it's been... what happens next?
a.) The protagonist finds it necessary to make a stop to a small shop nearby for a little breather (and pastry?), the cute owner of said shop seems very welcoming.
b.) The protagonist decides to let their imagination go wild so that, fingers crossed, their mind can be quiet and calm once they get to their date.
c.) No, no they can't be thinking about this now, not when they should be concentrating on the task at hand, not when they should be looking at where they're walking into, oh shi-!

b) seems too quick, and a) too evasive - I'd prefer c combined with a resulting cute encounter after the accident ^^ (or maybe the accident is actually an encounter, if they run into each other, both caught in their thoughts or something like that ^^)
