Denise's Breath Hold Training (Part 4)

After proper preparations and stretches, you and Denise get in the pool. You jump in to test the waters beforehand.

The water was cold, but you can feel it refreshing your skin as you ascend back to the surface. As you return up, you see Denise sitting at the edge of the pool, waiting for you to return.

"How is it?"

I let her know how the water was cold, but good enough for a swim.

"The same as usual I suppose, haha."

"Alright, now listen, here's how we're gonna do this."

I swam next to her as I heard my part of the role.

"I'll get down there and stay there until we reach 4 minutes, and you're gonna make sure I stay there too, no matter what I say or do, you won't let me go up until I reach 4 minutes, you hear me?"

By just hearing her plan it feels a bit way more extreme than I thought. I know she usually likes to push her limits, but didn't imagine she would push it that far. I nod in agreement, but at the same time, I had to ask if she was okay if I were to push her too far.

"Well yeah, that is how you improve and become better at it, you must go even further and beyond!"

There was a small pause as she continued.

"Uh…But hey, even if I do feel like wanting to go extreme...please remember to keep an eye on me, okay? If you feel like it's time for me to go up, I won't stop you to help me out if I go too far. Oh, the same goes for you! whenever you need to swim back to breathe, don't let me stop you, I can handle it myself."

Feeling a bit more relieved to hear this, I nod again in agreement, ready for whenever she dives down to the pool.

"Oh right, just one more thing! Since you have my stopwatch, could you share the time with me every once in a while? Just so I can keep track of my progress."

I agreed with showing her the stopwatch and we prepared one more time before diving down.

I setted up the stopwatch and Denise took deep breaths of air. After a long inhale, she dives down to the pool, making a loud splash on the way. I pressed start on the stopwatch, and quickly dived back after her.
