So here's an interesting thing that can easily happen when I draw out the bones of the strip!
Compare this with the last panel of strip #1171:
You can spot the difference in Roomie's pose and expression.
While I liked the fact that pose #1 was different from the others and gave a more dynamic feel to it, it just didn't suit the kind of punchline I wanted.
It actually took me several tries at Roomie's last expression because I realize that, without eyebrows, it is a challenge for me to get the right expression done. Eyebrows give such a big indicator at emotions! And I especially use them in my art to convey said emotions.
So yeah, back to the pose #1 that was scrapped: it happens! I was happy with how I drew Roomie, but I knew I had to erase it away for a more static, but ultimately more suitable dead-panned expression.
And it usually is always the right decision to make (not having characters dead-panned, but erasing stuff if you feel something's off!)
