She’s just come to realize that Pia has been trying to help the kitten despite the toxic personality of the kitten’s person, not using the kitten to gain access. I.e. she realizes she has misjudged Pia.

Do her words come from a desire to make things better, or are they a smoke screen for a revenge plot? I am eager to see where this story leads.
