Grown-up Luz Noceda and Amity Blight (he Owl House) dived into a control room to activate a closed gate. They were well aware that the dive could be one-way, but they were willing to sacrifice themselves to save the other passengers. Unfortunately, they ultimately drown while successfully saving them, becoming heroes in exchange of their lives
At least until someone with magic comes back for them, anyway.
