2025-04-21 21:00:37 +0000 UTCMaybe it was Pia's long absence that left Emile feeling so terrible. He did seem to perk up a bit after she moved to the village. Also, I'm pretty certain that some/most of the people who so callously dismiss people in desperate situations as 'stupid' or 'careless' or 'lazy', and insist that no-one give them any help, are actually just bitter sadists who just want others to suffer, and who get off on petty cruelty.
