Should I change my development tacticts?

Someone thinks that I am spending too much time developing game and not enough porn content, should I stop working on the game so much and start making more porn?

Comments

I hope to retain the current shooting feel. The difficulty of the game can be increased a little, but not too much. Frustration is okay but not too much. In short, I like the games you make very much and hope that there will be more and more content.

I personally think this is an excellent analysis!

Tom Williams

There are some dedicated H games with terrible gameplay. The players don't feel emerged in the game world, or committed to the character. As a result, even the H scenes get less exciting. On the other side, H mods built upon regular games may suffer from "disjoint" experience. Their gameplay is good, but doesn't connect to the H scenes in a meaningful way (e.g. Oblivion). I think your work has created a balanced and integrated experience for both gameplay and H scenes. So far, I have played the 0.4a version twice. Although it's a prototype, I think there are great potentials. I wish a few features already in the game can be elaborated in future versions. 1, Grabbing stage Grabbing stage is the transition between regular gameplay and H scenes. A good grabbing stage can set up the atmosphere for the H scenes. 1a, I hope to see more varieties in the grabbing stage. E.g. grabbing the PC's legs, gripping the PC from behind and teasing her sensitive parts. Maybe multiple enemies grabbing the PC together. 1b, I hope it become harder to escape in some scenarios. E.g. when there are multiple enemies, or when the enemy attack from behind. The risk will be higher for engaging multiple enemies and not paying attention to the surrounding. This will encourage the player to approach the enemy more carefully. In addition, escaping is so easy at present, that the PC only fail to escape, when the player deliberately choose not to resist. What is a failure for the character in story is actually an intended outcome for the player. I would prefer a more "synchronized" experience. The player should also feel the frustration from a hard-to-escape grabbing. "There was already no escape when I let a dozen of zombies getting this close. I can't resist this many. Just get it over with." 2, Enemy varieties This is probably self-evident. More types of enemies will making both the gameplay and H scenes more interesting. 2a, The hit&run strategy works too effectively against the zombies. I hope to see other kinds of zombies that demand different combat strategies. E.g. enemies with ranged attack, fast movement speed, or control skills (reduce running speed, or lay traps). 2b, I hope there can be elite zombies or villains that retained consciousness in the late game. Playing with the heroine's body while mocking her will give the H scenes another layer of flavor. 3, Noise mechanism I really appreciate the design that when the player alerts multiple zombies, the character says "oh no, I made a lot of noise." and the BGM switch to an intense music, it always give me a sense of tension. I totally agree with keeping a low profile most of the time. If the player can simply wield a machine gun to slaughter all the enemies in an area with ease, the atmosphere of "survival" will be spoiled. 3a, I hope the game can encourage the player to sneak in, trim down the numbers first, sometimes use environment or items, instead of charge right into the center and start shooting. The player will need to trade off between damage, noise and cost (e.g. grenades will kill multiple enemies in one blow, but it may also alert surrounding zombies), potentially using different play style for different quests. 3b, Being able to clean an area will give the player a sense of security. Maybe it's worth introducing some enemy generation mechanism, (e.g. holes in "They are Billions" will generate zombies slowly. The game explains by, zombies from outside the facility can crawl in from the holes. What this achieves is, even if the players can clean a room at some time, they cannot ensure safety, they may still encounter enemy when retreating to this room later. I think "Resident Evil" also have something similar) If the areas can never be completely cleaned (except for some safe zones), nowhere is safe, the player will always be on their toes. A miserable fate is forever hanging there. When things go south, maybe the PC has to run into insecure areas, or use a high noise item, resulting in being chased from multiple sides, or drawing attention of even larger number of enemies. This leads to some hard-to-escape grabbing and gang H scenes. Such design will allow the gameplay to keep building tension for the H scene, effectively turning the combat into an extended foreplay, making the H scene a lot more satisfying. Of course, they are all just my random thoughts. I have no idea of the technical difficulties of implementing these features, it's totally reasonable to do things differently. In any case, thank you for making this excellent game.

You just need to carefully explore the underground facility!

Still cant find Vintage Garter

Cykelspark

Hey, A clothes destruction system is currently in development.

Shine

I play again since some times the last version, and, what i notice is that when we're catch by ennemies, we no longer lose our clothes, just have to press a key. I didn't find the possibility to lose at any time, it's realy a pity ! Can you put back the old version or at least put it in the options ?

No need to change. Gameplay is very important also.

William

YES

I don't think you should change anything drastically, just do 10% less game 10% more porn.

Crates Driver

hmmm, hard to say, i like both <3

You're doing great as you are now, but I'll keep supporting either way. If I may say, I subbed on patreon because this game isn't just porn. The game has a lot of potential, and I like playing something that is more than just 'get fucked lots', otherwise it may as well just be an interactive gallery. I can actually play properly (avoiding zombies and staying alive) if I want. I like more porn as much as the next person here and eagerly await the next release, but I hope you don't completely drop the gameplay and framework updates/balance in favour of more sex. Perhaps some new common enemy types would add some variety? It would change up the gameplay and add more animations, appeasing both sides (more or less). Perhaps a crawler enemy which is tougher, slower, and harder to see, and grabs the PC's legs, dragging her down. Or a runner (fast, weak, may require a reduction in regular zombie speed to balance) that tackles her to the floor to fuck her. Whatever happens, I'm still interested in seeing where this goes.

Less kinks, more GUN MASTURBATION. On the topic of the gun, it might be cool to have a more expensive high-end weapon with a built-in silencer. Something like the VSS or Honey Badger, with more expensive ammo and initial base cost, but it lets you shoot without triggering all the zombies in view. The honey badger would be best because it's got the top rail with all the fun bumps that she can use to masturbate. And also because then she could masturbate without pointing the gun at her face.

Tom Williams

So I think you're doing the right thing. Focus on the framework and polishing the gameplay, then add in the horny shit

Maybe balance between the two.Don't focus only the porn or the gameplay because as you can see the supporters are 50/50.Add one or two new sex annimations per update so you can keep the horny bastards on leash and focus the rest on gameplay so it becomes enjoyable game to play not just to browse the gallery for porn.

Hiya Shinekuku! We talked a bit on F95, it's Kyla! Hiya! ^.^ I actually voted "less game, more porn" because I figured it was getting less votes, and I wanted to keep it as balanced as possible. Because I really do think that the balance is important. I wanted to kinda sum up what others are saying, because it really does match my opinions closely, and I think all the supporters are pretty much in the same place, with only nuances being our differences. It is REALLY important for you to not get "tunnel vision" on one aspect or the other. If you spend too much time focusing on tightening gameplay, you are going to drive yourself mad, because the gameplay will never be done to the level you want to it be. There will always be more options, features, and tune-ups that you spot that most others wouldn't, and it will keep you from providing an overall experience, sacrificing content for control. Likewise, if you focus too much on "new scenes" then the gameplay will suffer and get stale - it will be more "grind x thing to get to y area, collect h scene" and no one really enjoys that for long. There are a lot of "quick fap" games out there and none of us want this to turn into that. We love the gunplay, questlines, and exploration that have been set up so far, and we want that to be rewarded with naughty fun times when we need to scratch an itch in between, or as a "reward" for failing a mission before we re-spawn and try again, to take the sting out of sucking at FPS's (at least that what I see it as, lol). So, to keep this balance clean, I would suggest using this strategy: 1. Write a questline, have a "positive Sexy scene" as a reward. Make the quest about a new toy or NPC to have fun times with, or maybe a chance to get all preggo or explore a "kink of the month" or whatever. 2. Decide if you need a new weapon, enemy type, action function, or gameplay mechanic to pull of said quest in an interesting and engaging way. 3a. If you DON'T, write the questline and the sexy scene at the end and repeat back at step 1 until your update deadline hits. 3b. If you DO, then work on implementing that new thing, and make sure that something sexy goes along with it - for a new enemy, make the defeated abuse scene. For a weapon, consider adding in something like a solo masturbation scene with the weapon to "dedicate it." For a new mechanic or gameplay function, consider if there is a sexy application of it and if there is, consider adding in animations or whatnot as part of it's incorporation. Following these steps, you'll see that you can keep tightening both the gameplay and the sexy fun stuff without getting too distracted either way, because the first thing you're always focusing on is the story and questline, and everything else is serving to tell that central narrative. THAT will keep all of us happy and horny along the way!

Come for the porn stay for the Plot

Donny_My_Dude

I voted for "its okay" though I have to admit I was disappointed that we had the new mission and there was the "boss" that just sat behind bars and we never interacted with it. A little bit more adult themed updates would be nice but amazing job so far. I wouldn't drop my support because you continue as is.

i voted for it ok now. It should be left for a reward or a defeat. and once you get majority of the game completed you can though and add repeatable quests with porn in

Impaler

As much as I would like to see more porn content, I had to vote "It's ok now!" Porn without context is just a glorified gallery. For example I think WildLife is a project with great potential, but I can never get more than 5 minutes of entertainment out of it because they've been adding a lot of new animation at the cost of slow progress in other areas of the game. I think rather than focusing on scenes directly, I would appreciate if development time was spent on gameplay mechanics that are tied to the porn system. These are just some examples, I understand that some of these features may not be planned for your product or are not a priority at the moment: grab/escape mechanism, consequences for getting caught, corruption/preg, etc. I also really enjoy seeing new costumes added to the game, it's one of the game's appeals for me. But I don't think the developer should be pressured into releasing any type of feature on a regular schedule because that might come at the cost of delaying other important features or negatively impacting quality for the sake of meeting a quota.

ChupacabraGonzales

I voted for "Less game more porn" but I want to be clear that so far you've been doing an excellent job at both and gameplay is definitely one of the big strengths of this game.

Bob Morane

Id say stick with developing gameplay and then the porn. The problem we have with porn game is that the game itself lacks but sometimes the porn is good. Usually in those games I rush to beat it and then never play it again or just get a save to see the animations making it a glorified gallery viewer. H-games with good gameplay however can be replayed and feel as if they are more valued.

Dijitz23

To add my two cents: I decided to support this game because the gameplay was actually not just some clunky, unoptimized system only existing to give a sequence of videos the label "game". And because it is still in an early state you should focus on the framework, and after that the implementation of other stuff is much less work. As an idea for more sexy time outside of combat: a bar or a whorehouse where the protagonist could, well, "earn" money or just being promiscuous. Merry christmas !

Stratanael

Updates and gameplay have been amazing so far, and you have made strides polishing things up. But the porn content to game tuning ratio is pretty lopsided, especially when you factor in time between updates. Although I would love to see more porn content, I enjoy seeing all the progress eitherway.

porn not pron

more porn is always nice But was makes a good porn game is the game part Otherwise it is called a visual novel I have played porn games where gameplay was so good you forgot it was a porn game, and those are the ones you remember and play again. the rest are just if you pardon the pun one shot deals edit:typos

Love having some porn, but what i really love, is the game context that leads to porn. The reason that I patron this game is really because I love the fact that our character is under danger of being fucked in some context. The best moment is the version in the night where we have to manage waves of ennemies. Would love to have some events where ennemies are humans and we just have to protect our body from them !
