Eric ( although cute and I’m sure charming and blah, blah, blah…) ISN’T IT. This whole scenario is UNHEALTHY for you and you know that true! That whole sick to your stomach thing is NOT IT! He’s attracted to you because you ARE so attractive and adorable and you’re SOOOOO BELOVED by Soooo many people. He wants some of that shine to rub off on him. I feel like he’s a clout chaser who KNOWS YOU LIKE HIM!!! That snide little remark he made proves it. He’s PLAYING with your heart. It’s a little game for him. You’re boosting his little ego that someone so fabulous and loved is interested in him. That makes him feel bigger than he is. He’s just some random dude and you’re a celebrity. It’s sad honesty if you think about it. You should feel sorry for him, honestly. Please consider going low or no contact with him. HE is NOT your friend! I’ve seen this sooooo many times over the years with so many different individuals. I’ve be straight with them about it . They never want to listen . They push me away because “ I don’t understand… blah, blah, blah “. I respect their decision and shut up. They ALWAYS come back later and say “ OMG. How did you know”???
