month 01 in my filofax personal ✸

hi everyone, i hope you're all doing ok.

as promised, the voted for video 🙇🏻‍♀️ it was fun to talk in depth about my filofax now that i've been in it a solid amount of time, and i hope you enjoy it. the captions have been taking a long time recently, so they might still be buffering, but i'll update this post when they're ready.

apart from that, this week i just have one little page for the 'everyday gloom' zine. i've been taking advantage of wednesday's designated rest time, and trying to rest alongside her. i think it's been needed, but obviously not very productive.

nonetheless, the zine is pulling together. i'll attach an updated gif below!

take care and speak soon, friends x

edit: captions working 🥰

Would you be able to upload your sleep trackers? speaking as someone else w/ undiagnosed sleep disorder, it just seems helpful. fine if not - just wanted to ask. :-)

Love your Video Megan 🥰 I would really like to switch to Filofax Personal but I don't understand how you do it with the grid. I wanted to create a migraine diary but it just doesn't work. May I ask how you handle this? 🫣

Anna

Around 25 minutes into the video, you mention copy and pasting information into the Filofax. Do you mean printing from the computer?

Amberly Chapman

loooovving the zine!

I've been recovering from chronic fatigue, so seeing you design on the computer and printing out the pages has allowed me to continue journaling without having to find energy to write on paper! <3

I absolutely adore your zine ✨ so pretty

It took me awhile to let go of my hobonichi weeks and cousin—- but over the summer I took my daughter’s unused personal rings and used procreate to play around with layout styles. I agree with you— on a whim I can change my system to work for me layout wise which is so helpful. I think what turned me off of the binders for so long was those buyable inserts that were so small and I never knew what to do with them… nor did I like them visually. I so badly wanted to support you and your inserts but sadly even those didn’t quite fit what I needed—- so I decided to support you here as a member. You have been such a help this year as I transitioned from goodnotes, too many planners to count, hobonichi, to now what I feel is my perfect system customized for my own mental health. ☺️❤️‍🩹 I know you are just being yourself, but you did inspire me to lean into my artistic side to create my own (which digital and printing —- sooo much easier and more consistent lines than bullet journaling) and for all that I thank you 😊 Take care of yourself. Wishing you well.

just did, thank you! :)

thank you! having fun with it ✂️

i love that so many notebooks work for you, it’s nice to have variety! a smart idea about the rings, too- i’ll look into it 🔎

Megan Rhiannon ✸

yes, drop me an email! meganrhiannonillustration@gmail.com (and let me know which version of the habit tracker you use!)

Megan Rhiannon ✸

Thank you for the video! Could you maybe make a double page with the weekly habit tracker and then the gratitude log? Otherwise when going over to the next month I have an empty week on the backside page and then restart with the monthly overview which then again has a week on the backside so it kind of throws off the whole thing. I hope this makes sense 🫣 hope you can rest well this weekend 🫶🏻

Loved the video, thanks for sharing☺️ I am always amazed by how everything you do just looks ✨aesthetic✨. Glad to see your system is giving you as much comfort as it does at the moment❤️‍🩹 I am currently in an A5 Filofax for planning and use a clipbook to take inserts I want to reference or use to work with me. I am a teacher and also use a pre-made teacher planner to go with it. I commonplace and archive/memory-keep what I do in a Hobonichi Cousin as sort of a book about the year. As for journaling, I keep a separate journal for rambling to myself and sticking things in in random A5 or B6 notebooks I have been collecting and have started keeping a diary for each month in A6 notebooks, where I fill out 5 pages a day, which roughly fills a 160 pages notebook in a month. So there’s a lot going on🫠📚But I do need to keep all my work notes separate anyway and, having always loved stationery, I simply enjoy the different books for what they are.😊 As for archiving Filofax pages, I am keeping them sort of as ringbound notebooks. You can buy binder rings as either loose single rings or as units of 3 connected by a piece of metal (which is much sturdier). The spine is bare like it would be with a ringbound notebook but you can flip through them and take pages out and everything but you would have to make covers yourself to keep them more protected if that’s needed. But I imagine you could keep them in a box like this instead🤔

Anna

love how the zine has a real tactility/materiality to it even digitally, especially with the little “flaps” you’ve started adding 🫶🫶

Wonderful video as always Megan! I'm currently using three separate inserts in a standard TN Moterm cover as a journal, commonplace book, and book journal.

Kat Pursell

Loved this video! Thanks so much for sharing.

Yvonne

ahh gotcha, i’m still watching the video so i must have not made it to that part lol

Kat Pursell

thank you!! im glad you like them 😌

Megan Rhiannon ✸

i talked about them in the video! i like the smooth lil dot the stamps make, i don’t know if i trust myself to make it as neat 🥲

Megan Rhiannon ✸

about the dot marker issue, if you’re okay with making the circles yourself I would recommend zebra mildliners! they have muted colors that are still pigmented and mine have lasted 6+ years!

Kat Pursell

Don’t know if I commented last time, but I love the extra bits you’ve “taped” on top of the pages in the zine. Looking forward to quiet watching time later!
