FINAL COUNT: AEW Dynamite [Arthur Ashe Stadium, Flushing, NY]

AEW Dynamite / Rampage
Wed • Sep 20 • 7:30 PM
Arthur Ashe Stadium, Flushing, NY

Tickets Distributed => 11,263

This is believed to be one of the best walk-ups in company history. I'd estimate the paid figure to be in the range of 9,500-9,800.

Here are the key notes from the map.

The originally opened limited view/edge sections (sec 58, 58, 12, 13) were not used and those who had seats there were upgraded to the lower bowl/floor seats that I had questions about which is the fair thing to do for those who paid full price rather than comping or dramatically reducing the price.

The top halves of the upper decks that were removed (sec 329 through 333 and sec 325-328) were mostly comped (except 333, which had just a few rows occupied) which is why the Distributed count went up so much from the last update (I did not include those for any previous update as last year when this happened, those sections came back and were in fact empty where expected).

At least 304 tickets were added on VetTix several days before the show which could've been allocated to some of the top halves of the upper decks removed. The media blitz by the company in the past 2 days made a big difference as well.

Here's an image I made of the map that took far too long to show off which sections were truly opened (red indicates production kills). The map closed with 1,323 tickets available, most of which were upper deck seats.

Hard cam side:

Here's a shot showing off the camera decks opposite of the hard cam (visible to TV) where they are fuller than expected, except the last one on the left (333).

Not as high quality but a closer up view (it's worth noting that not all comps show up so you'll notice missing seats near the top):

Here's showing off 328-325, which again, had the top halves of each section removed at one point all at once which points to them being comped:

And here is sec 324, the beginning of the BOGO sections (Not worried about those because they were fully opened and accounted for):

From section 330:

Visual of where they cut off seating in the lower bowl at section 57 as the last section:

Other shots:

And lastly the hard cam upper decks which we knew would be empty:

Another good look at the camera visible upper decks, maybe the best view:

Last time here:
9/21/2022 => Dynamite: Grand Slam => 13,321

The media blitz by the company in the past 2 days helped move a lot. The key take-aways for this one next year is to get the pricing right on the lower bowl stuff from the start, offer a ticket deal far sooner when sales stagnate after the onsale (I would offer the BOGO in the same exact sections as they did here), hit the local market as hard as you can the week of the show and make this a pay per view next year if they are switching to a 12 month model because you'd have an even better chance of getting people out on a weekend night.

Looks like it’s going to be a ppv 👀

Good to see . We talk of moving some of these paper views to other major Arenas.. With the proper publicity you can pack the arena. Over 2K walk up .
