Just circling back to this post. Thanks for sharing, Megan, I know it's not easy especially when you're going through it at the time. Your video is heartfelt and encourages open and honest conversations about how you're doing. At least it did for me :) The sensory box is a really good idea, kind of like a comfort box in a way. So true, no good having these things if you can't find them when you need them. I hope the attic fills with more light and gives you energy. People need the light 🙏. Sending tea, cake and fruit 😊 🍵 🍰 🍊

Thank you for this. Thank you for sharing this although it made you feel nervous. I appreciate it so much! This video in particular feels so validating in many ways. Getting cold when nervous, I didn't know other people experience that as well. Very particular games that feel the right amount of cozy and engaging, tell me more! I'm always struggling to find that sweetspot, and would LOVE to hear more about games that you enjoy! I'm so going to make myself some cards with reminders...how have I never thought about that, duh 🙈 💜 😅 Thank you.

<3 thank you for sharing your thoughts and week, and i hope things feel a little easier as the rest of the month goes on, and we leave january behind again. i always love the talking segments, and your sketchbook pages are so inspiring as I struggle with translating my thoughts to paper with traditional art and have been wondering if digital would be a better avenue.

It's very much appreciated! Also, a thought just popped into my head... maybe it could be called a "mental first-aid kit" or "autistic first-aid kit" :)

I really love the sensory box and will definitely give it go for my ADHD As someone who also suffers from anxiety especially about the future I always hate the first quarter of the year also, but your videos and have been really helpful. Thank you so much! 🖤

I appreciate your honesty so much in this video. I hope you start feeling better soon. I am not autistic but suffer with a lot of mental health issues and found January has also been super weird for me. I too have been trying to do things I know help but it’s definitely a struggle every day.thank you for this video 💕💕💕

Hey, sorry to hear that you’re in a hard place at the moment. It made perfect sense to me. I thought your sketchbook pages were beautiful and authentic. Sending comforting vibes and a virtual cookie.

thank you so much for this video, i really needed to hear what you had to say. i've been working myself really hard the past few weeks because i'm so so stressed about uni exams and wanting to do well because i genuinely love the topics so much. i do feel the autistic burnout creep up on me, so i'm looking forward to the middle of february too when i can finally just relax and take care of myself for a bit. i hope that from now to mid/end febuary will be okay for you and i hope that the sensory box will help

I always find January really triggering and draining too. Thank you for this video, it's a great reminder that I'm not along. I love your sensory box, and the index cards are a great idea too!

Not the sensory diet thing making me go wide-eyed at my computer. Between my mental illness, ADHD, and likely autism, it has taken a long long LONG time for me to accept that I am not, never have been, and never will be normal. And the thing my brain cannot accept and the process is the fact that the sun will continue to rise if I, gods forbid, take care of myself in a way that /I/ find helpful and beneficial and all the good things that make life worth living. Either way, the tl;dr is thank you, so much, for all that you do. These videos provide me immense comfort at work and times when I'm precariously close to meltdown. Self-care that isn't a "that" girl face mask and juice is not for me, and it never will be. So why Is it so hard to let myself take what I want and need in this strange little life? Either way, hope you and Wednesday are staying well as you can, lots of love from a cold, snowy Iowa. <3

i have spent uncomfortable and struggled time from New year to my birthday(is also in February) since childhood as well. I’ve never talk about that to anyone before, but i could realise that’s not only for me. Especially, Japanese people have special interests in New year and i have been feeling it is so stressful. now I feel it’s ok. thank you so much for sharing this video. i hope you getting well soon :)

May

oh im so glad you liked it, thank you for such lovely feedback! i was so nervous to post it, i’m very grateful 🥲 i hope it continues to comfort u if/when you need it again!

Megan Rhiannon ✸

Thank you so much for making this video, it was incredibly helpful and relatable. I will definitely be rewatching several times! I hope you start feeling better soon and your comfort box and routines bring you as much comfort as this video brought me :) (also, glad I'm not the only one whose voice shakes when I talk about autism!!)

Sarah R

thanks for your comment, ashleigh! i really recommend the index cards, they’re such a big help when thinking isn’t really happening lol. i’d recommend them to anyone! glad you liked the video, it was such a nervous one to make 🙇🏻‍♀️❤️‍🩹

had to have something light to serve as the awkward “lol” after being so vulnerable 😅

The Animal Crossing clip at the end 🤣 🤣

I love the index cards! I have anxiety and if I’m in a bad place, it’s sooo easy to forget how to stay grounded and what activities help, so I might do something similar that I can pop into my bag ❤️ it’s nice to see a self care video that isn’t drinking smoothies or using an obscene amount of shower products, I find that routine helps my anxiety, I hope you begin to feel soon ❤️
