hi again, everyone!

after talking with a couple of you last night, i just wanted to add an additional book tracking option- a little library card printable. this version has room for some notes, and a space to rate the book out of 5. on the reverse, i've added a little notepaper. i think i might stick a picture of the book cover there!

i drew these at a6, so i've included an image at that size, as well as the a5 pages that i printed (with cutlines) and a transparent option for those planning digitally- you should be able to drop this image straight onto an a5 page to use (i've tested it, so hopefully it works for you too)🖍️

as with yesterday, i'm open to feedback, so please let me know if you run into any issues or there's something you're not sure about.

today i also tested printing some sketchbook pages. it's really nice to be able to keep everything in one place. a little sherlock and john really makes the book feel like home lol.

that's probably all for this week, apart from the video tomorrow evening. my brother is visiting in the morning and we're away over the weekend for a family thing, so you'll have a little break from me and my filofax 😅 however, if you want to let me know in the comments below how you're getting on with the pages, please do!

i'm also open to ideas if anyone wants to request pages/other little bits. next week i'll probably be packing the physical shop orders from last week (i ordered the products in advance, but they still haven't arrived yet 😥) but the following week i'll hopefully be able to prep some more digital bits for the shop.

ok! take care and speak soon, friends x

I'm testing them as printables that I can just glue into a notebook. I love the idea of using the binder, but I wasn't sure my brain would stick to it that way. I would love to see your ideas on a music tracker maybe!

Saint Melody

Hey Sara, that's really interesting to know. Maybe mine is the same (?) Good to speak and thank you for sharing this :)

Kay

Hi! About the cutlines, I’m not sure what your printer is like but mine always prints with a 5mm white border (aka it doesn’t print until 5mm from the edge), so anything in that area doesn’t show up on the print. I guess the easiest way to solve it would just be to make the cutlines a bit longer so they still show up ^^

Sara

I’m testing out the planner sheets this weekend, partially on their own just because I’m curious and partially including them in my regular traveler’s notebook, and it’s been soo much fun! I’ve also just set up a tracker for my back pain and headaches on a Dutch door inside my commonplace book, and I was thinking it might fit well on one of the half-pages you’ve been making as well Anyways, thanks for sharing these, they’re so cool🥺

Sara

I should have watched this weeks AA before asking bc it’s literally answered all of my questions

Hi Hayley, this is the hole punch I use. It's by Rapesco and enables you to adjust for other planner sizes too: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rapesco-1323-Adjustable-6-Hole-Organiser/dp/B01DJH65FE/ref=sr_1_30?crid=32KQ3BOIF2CL8&keywords=rapesco+planner+hole+punch&qid=1683913351&sprefix=rapesco+planner+hole+punch%2Caps%2C72&sr=8-30

Hi Megan, just to come back to you on the planner sheets, they all printed out well. I still have to print out the A6 posted here, so the feedback does not include that one. :: Margins and hole punching The margins on the A5 are great and once printed and folded it’s obvious which side of the page you need to hole punch. The margin is also set with a good amount of space for the holes with plenty of clearance. I’m just looking at them now, the holes come out pretty much in the centre of the margin. :: Look and Feel & fonts The fonts selected and the weight & texture of the lines give that index card feeling to the pages, and a uniqueness to the planner sheets which is really nice. :: Test-print with double-sided sheets I see how the pages have been designed to be folded together, as you explained in your video about your printer and the flipping of pages which can be confusing. I’m with you there :) I did try double-sided printing by flipping the paper manually and it works! I had to pay attention to the way the page was printed out. So, to use the ‘brain drain’ planner page as an example: on my printer, the text ‘Index:’ prints out on the left-hand side of the page. I flipped the page upside down on the short edge of the paper with the intention of the text ‘Index:’ to be printed out on the left side of the page again. It’s easy to show but hard to explain. Each printer is different so it may not work for everybody. The best thing is for everyone to try on their own printer. Or, if people are planning to use commercial printers they will of course do that for you. :: Illustrations and symbols The weather icons are a nice feature, as well as the other symbols (i.e.: the star, light bulb, book, etc.) on the planner sheets. They are like built-in stickers 🧡 :: Cutlines: on task-master list + additional notes; and reading & film logs I’m not sure if it’s just my printer, or if other people experience this too (?), when I print at 100% the cutlines are not showing. However, they appear when printed at 96% (and a little bit at 98%, i.e.: not the full length of the cutline as you see on screen). :: The grid or, as you say, squares :) The 5 mm grid is good, it’s a more universal size and allows for those with slightly larger handwriting. The planner sheets are really lovely, and the illustrative elements also give that extra something<3 p.s.: A question about the mood tracker/symbols. I just wondered what the ‘X’ means. Is it chef’s kiss? Or, you don’t want to know about my day lol. Have a great weekend with your brother and the rest of the family, x

Kay

You can get 6 hole punches especially for these binders. Or alternatively, adjustable hole punches, but they're a bit more exxy I think.

AutomaticOtter

Maybe like a little bookshelf and you can write all the books you read that year in them.

Leahh

these are *so* cool, thank you for sharing them with us!!! 😤 glad you're having a good time with this project! <3

B

This is cute! I have an entire collection of old real library cards at home

Isnora the Nerd

Thank you so much for offering us these printables Megan 🥰 tomorrow is my day off so I’m running to Ryman to get an A5 binder to fill up, I can’t wait!

Brontë

I think it would be cool keep a library card on each of the books that I read. So in the future if I want to re-read it I can see what my past thoughts were 💭 I'm excited to print them.

Daniela

Ah you are feeding us this week 😭🥹👏🏼 i think a lot of people really connect to your art and sketches on the common place/note pages and would definitely buy those. I think gloomie reader cards would be cute too 🥹 some little gloomies with books or something even if it’s just 1

Tori Davis

Ahhh amazing thank you!!

Ellie

I printed just a weekly spread today to use for work and realizing 1. I am in a weird spot where I don't have enough work tasks but then have too many personal tasks, and 2. I may need to modify my script or blow these up larger. hehe I think I'll try these instead of my normal work weekly pad for a week or two and report back at the end of the month with some completed spreads <3

Courtney

ahh it's beautiful!! If you ever wanted to make the 'take your inhaler or die' reminder as a sticker, mini print or bookmark, I'd buy it! In the meantime I need to make one for my book too because I always forget :/

Georgia

oh i love these! also, having those sketchbook pages in there must be so lovely. looking forward to your future experiments :-) and i now can’t wait to track and write about all the silly little books i read hehe

roxie

Also, how are you hole punching in exactly the right places?

Miadan

Thanks!

Miadan

I feel like we’re being seriously spoilt with all these printables, definitely going to give the book one a go!

Ashleigh

I think it’s called a Filofax clipbook :)

Ashleigh

What’s the folder/outside of the book called?
