an informal update | ep. 1 ✸

hi everyone, i hope you're all doing okay. a little early this week, and trying something slightly new, i guess! have been thinking a lot about what my return to videos could look like, and how i might be able to keep things feeling a bite more manageable.

on the work front, i think i finally finished troubleshooting the formatting issues of everyday gloom- just letting the text fill the pages as needed, rather than trying to squeeze topics into one space. it's a little uglier, maybe, but makes things a lot easier. adjusting the illustrations to fit too. hopefully things will start to move much quiet now!

on sunday, wednesday celebrated her fourth birthday! we took the usual commemorative photos.

i think that's all i have for the moment, but will possibly come back and update you again over the weekend. wishing everyone a gentle friday.

take care and speak soon, friends x

A couple things that I hope can help. 1. My husband worked as a sleep tech for 15 years (before moving to EEG). A few things, even if it feels like you don’t sleep at all, that is okay, they will be able to see what is going on in your brain waves when you aren’t sleeping and get good info from there. Plus, apparently people sleep more than they think they do. And second, book an appointment at a salon (if you are comfortable) to get your hair washed. They adhere the nodes using paste, and it can be a big pain to get out yourself. He always recommended people with long or thick hair just book a wash and blow out for afterwards. 2. I worked in a print shop for a number of years and you are correct about why you lost your margin on the centre pages. The printer will collate, fold and staple the booklet. Then the pages stick out in a weird triangle shape so they will trim the edge to be flush. We always recommended that all the outside margins be 1/4-3/8” so that it was less obvious. But you could theoretically ask that it not be trimmed, but the odd edge might bother you more. Also, I couldn’t tell entirely about the cover, but I suspect they just printed black onto white paper, so the cut edge will show inside the white paper. I’d suggest asking for them to use a plain black cardstock and then perhaps printing something to adhere to the outside instead of printing the black. Hopefully that is helpful, not annoying. 😂

I enjoyed this short format video. The only thing I missed is that calming attic archive music. For a name I thought about a dispatch from the attic, an attic brief or maybe a report from the attic. Glad you're doing well and hope you can get some quality medical help.

Really enjoyed this, it's lovely to listen to you chat about things (: Crocs video would be so fun! Also wondered if you were still planning on making physical copies of everyday gloom for UK people or planning on all digital, or undecided?
