so, in the world of Occamz Razor- mainly inhabited by furries- the dynamic between carnivores and herbivores is a lot more "gray". In anthropomorphic representation, the "herbivores" still eat meat most of the time (like how deer eat squirrels for iron every now and then).
The "race" component is also a lot more gray, because animal species are moreover meant to represent personality than anything else, but lineage & mixed breeds are still a thing. (I think I've sorta decided that the mother's genes pass down the majority of information, like in pokemon or something). (Crossbreeding and selective breeding are also controversies of their own; when breeding beyond class the risk of complications increases as well). There are dynamics and conflicts between groups like cats and dogs, but then there become broader arguments between kingdom & phylum, or groups like reptiles & mammals. So it's never entirely (demographic1 = xyz) because it's across the board.
But that's beside the point; carnivores and herbivores still acknowledge their natural roles, but it is sort of an unspoken understanding- or at least a cautious subject. In turn, it also has a very taboo place in the society. For the most part, herbivores are represented the same as carnivores because they see it as a norm in modern day.
BECAUSE it is seen as taboo to crossbreed beyond certain taxonomic ranks, animals in unconventional relationships would often turn to dysfunctional or different lifestyles to cope with or complete fantasies. Some whole-hearted, some not. But animal instinct does not just occur here; being eaten, or vice versa, is a fantasy carried by many regardless of their order.
