Warriors vs 76ers |GM-51|

That explanation of why Steph gets so loose with the ball when he’s hot makes tons of sense.. “it’s almost like he doesn’t see the defense, so he feels like he can do whatever he wants.”

Team was 29-1 before this game, when Steph drops 40+

Paradox

Maybe a little of both. No doubt the time off was good for him... way he plays. But I also think there is a underlining message everything needs to be earned. Otherwise how you think Bell feel?

Athletic Alchemy

You reckon Kerr giving Jerebko a bit of a rest? or Kerr wants him to earn a spot in the rotation?

Plissken

Steph had some atrocious turnovers in this game. He only averages 3 TOs a game but it seems like a lot more, maybe just because they visually look horrible. Also, I noticed his stroke was quicker in this game than usual, and you've mentioned in the past that he's more effective when he has a quicker release, so that might've had to do with him dropping 41 in this game. And Alch, how many times have we taken an L when Steph drops 40? Almost never probably. But we didn't have Klay so that was a factor too. What are your thoughts on Brett Brown as a coach?

Thanks... when a guy passes up a shot it can be hard to rest your rhythm on the play.

Athletic Alchemy

by the way, Alchemy, your insights are invaluable. You see things I don't see. One thing I have always noticed about this Warriors team is rhythm. Last year, when Casspi and McCaw wouldn't shoot, the rhythm was off for everyone. Last night, when Cousins wouldn't shoot, the rhythm changed, and not for the better. He pump faked, then drove to the rim, but really was never very close to finishing at the rim because he was double / triple teamed by the time he got to the rim.

*********second best write up all year************** btw, I'm no Kerr apologist, but I think Kerr does this on purpose against teams during the regular season, especially the first time we play them. No major in game adjustments, no major clock management, no key time outs to get the guys on the same page. It drives me nuts, because last night felt like a game Warriors could have won with a couple tweaks here and there.

YANCEY WADE

*******thank you*************best write up all year!************************

Kerr looked sedated on the bench, sitting with his leg crossed, he didn’t even pretend to care. somebody, anybody, tell me one positive in game adjustments Kerr made?? 1)Embid played 33, Boggie 25, if Kerr just insured that embid only played 8 min on looney, we win. 2)in the second unit, Kerr had to know that with no klay on the court it was gonna be problematic having dray playmake to Boggie in the post when no one respects Dray 3) In a game with no Klay, and with phillys length, a 3&D big would of been perfect, yet Jonas is a DNP. Kerr got so out coached it was laughable, as Brett Brown did nothing special, Kerr was just so bad. It’s so bad we don’t even expect Kerr to be and x’s&o’s coach as he’s so good managing egos....but is he really though...as lord knows he can’t manage draymond...when dray got that meaningless tech, Kerr was scared to even look at draymond...what kind of leadership is that....you’ll go off on bell but when someones behavior is actually hurting the team as it’s not garbage time..you do nothing, smh....my only guess is that Kerr knows this team better than me and legitimately didn’t care about this game as it’s pre all star break and he’s pacing the team.

Listen to any KD interview. He is the personification of the term “Ball is life” dude is a hooper through and through...Calling, Someone who made basketball their life, the worst thing you can call an man, then following it with: “We don’t need you. We won without you. Leave,”....that’s the equivalent of a female telling her sons father the baby ain’t his...some things said, can never be taken back, however to KD’s credit the issue is behind them...however, reality is you can’t: -get fined 120k for “conduct detrimental to the team” -Appeal the fine as you don’t think it’s fair, -not work on your 3 in the offseason despite knowing if you can make that shot our offensive is unstoppable. -be a liability in the half court resulting in your man cheating towards Boggie or klay resulting in horrible spacing Then when refs blow calls, you don’t get to scream and holler as if you are some type of emotional leader. Curry’s the President, KD the VP, Klay is Sergent-at-Arms. You can’t beg for a tech with roughly 5 min left in a single digit game and call yourself a leader. So just stop it already - your eye roll inducing antics no longer have the effect they once had. Get your game on point & let your play do the talking. P.s. and stop screaming &1 on every got dang lay up, that’s reserved for all stars.

klay for AD?, hell I'm not so sure..

They for sure were less hungry than the 6ers last night

Athletic Alchemy

lol I love Klay! but I'm pulling that hypothetical trigger!

Athletic Alchemy

just awoke from a nightmare where the warriors pulled Klay cos they're just about to blockbuster trade his ass to reunite boogie and AD lol

Bad calls, bad shooting, bad turnovers... The Sixers are good, but I really don't think they played all that well. We lost the game due to a combo of bad things happening at the same time. Also, I kinda feel that the team doesn't want to work for wins in the regular season anymore. In the first two years of the run they'd work their ass off trying to win close games. This game was not over until the last 30 seconds, yet there was no concerted effort to get the only dude that kept scoring for us any good looks. They sort of just gave up. I'm pretty sure this won't happen in the playoffs, but it's frustrating to watch right now.

Thanks! Yeah it felt way more lob sided during

Athletic Alchemy

Steph needs the rest though, dude runs a marathon each game. My problem, as usual, is Kerr not setting any specific plays for Curry towards the end when they desperately needed 3s to catch up. Only guy who can defend Embiid well was Boogie, it is what it is.

Paradox

I understand Kerr wants to keep his rotations and rest Steph but jesus, stop taking him out of the game when he is the only guy hitting anything. Also, lets take Dray and Boogie out in the 3rd quarter and watch Loon get bullied by Embiid. I sometimes, really don't understand his rotations and his lack of mid-game adjustments.

Vinay Pisini

Warriors went from leading 69-61 to being behind 87-80 in the third quarter. At 11:25 Kerr finally calls a time out to stop the bleeding. Kerr was like: "Give me my clipboard. I gotta do some coaching. Shit. I haven't coached in weeks. I don't even know where my clipboard is."

YANCEY WADE

Always like your analysis and this one was even better than usual for its details :] Both Cousins and Curry could have pulled the trigger on a lot of shots but I guess the length threw them off. We know both Curry and KD, when they get excited, they add a bit too much momentum and height to their shots. It's amazing to see the correlation between relaxed chill soft guys and their shooting skills. I expect more screens and off ball movement from KD when things get tough, rather than throwing contested 3s. Surprisingly the points off of turnovers from both teams were the same. Same number of fouls too. Man Livingston is such a liability. I love the guy but every time I watch him suck in spacing I die a little. I never watch Butler but his offensive game is also not pretty to look at. Butler just doesn't look like he adds much to the team. In this league, shoot or go join OKC.

Paradox

The rule for Steph is: it's gotta be loose to make it work (and sometimes that comes with turnovers)

YANCEY WADE

good point! I think Kerr is very much on the "earn it" with the bench guys. You take a leave you have to earn it back.

Athletic Alchemy

rebound more so he can start with it in his hands?

Athletic Alchemy

Right! Phili is pretty unique matchup tho

Athletic Alchemy

that's what I think too, but they will never admit it.

Athletic Alchemy

underrated comment lol

Mayansh Upadhyaya

What’s up with Jerebgoat? I feel like this would’ve been a good matchup for him, especially with Klay out.

Sevrin Weiss

12:26 Alch's stunt double happen to walk into the room :)

Sounds like your ISP may be throttling at peak hours.

Jeppe Oliver Danielsen

I think the question keep Dray or Klay has been answered.

Nirky

Steph has to be more ball dominant and he also has to rebound the ball more
