I agree that Mckinnie doesn't have the best IQ but I get why GSW is continuing to play him. He's 6'8 and covers a lot of ground and is active on the boards. Though he's slid recently, he has shown he has a decent 3pt shot. If he can fix some of his defensive mistakes, you have that valuable wing bench player at a bargain price. But I like what I've seen from Evans too recently. Dude looks like a completely different player.

Hey boys! We got a KD fan up in here! Let’s corner him and take his lunch money. Maybe throw some chipotle sauce at him! Either that or he’s a KD burner.

Anyone advocating for KD leaving because you “want to see this every night” needs to understand that iggy has maybe one year left of this production at best, and no way can he start every regular season game and more importantly, we won’t have an all star caliber center next year. Demarcus has been as important as any player including Steph in our last two games and he’s gone next year. I only hope that KD leaves because after three years this petulant fan base can’t appreciate their 2x FMVP and any other fan base in the nba would love to have him on the team

YES! KD can do another 1+1 or whatever and go for the HISTORY!
We don't need Boogie and he *HAS* to take the money if it's offered (which...it will be. 100mil + is going to be offered.) But who knows? Maybe he's a gambler; certainly I've run thru the same points as you. And

We have to remember we can't give boogie more if KD leaves. He only gets a small raise from what he's making this year so deep down we all live KD and all want him to stay

Good point that the narrative of them no longer being a “ super team” would really help motivation and approach. Still rather sign K for 5
Athletic Alchemy
2019-03-18 04:11:40 +0000 UTC
I really hope that we can keep the entire team together for 1 more year and try to go for the 4peat, especially if they win this year. Here how that can happen, KD signs another 1 year deal for like 30 million, Klay get his max deal, Green do not get a max he is not a max player (Green is slowly breaking down in front us) and Bougie sign again for 1 year at the 6 mil. Now the question is why would Bougie turn the bag down come next season easy.... Bougie will be a champion now he would have a full year to display that he is a max player, secondly he will now qualify for the 10 year Vet Max after securing maybe his second ring, third solidifying all their (Steph, KD, Klay, Green, Bougie) destiny forever as the best starting five ever assembly and that will put to bed the haters now KD and Bougie can walk afterwards, then the warriors will now officially be on the rebuild our bench.

Love to see the team succeed without KD like this. KD is a big drama queen and I think he’s rubbing a lot of Dubnation the wrong way. Something’s off about his demeanor this season, and i can’t wait to get this season over with, get the three peat and get his ass outta Golden State and move on. One thing I’m fed up with is the narrative of how the Warriors are unbeatable and they are the overwhelming favorites ever year. That’s all because of KD being on the team. Would love to see that change next year when the Warriors are finally fighting for something, to prove they can win without KD.
2019-03-18 02:26:42 +0000 UTC
Hate to double comment but did you watch BBallbreakdown's latest vid on "Is the Warrior's Offense Better Without KD?" kinda clickbaitey title because his ultimate conclusion was "depends, but not really." The reason I bring it up though is it's really good analysis of some things involving how the offense runs through Steph and would love to get your take - maybe a "counter analysis." He's the only other basketball analyst I watch aside from you.

Boogie's rebounding alone was huge this game, and his ability to muscle his way to the rim is pretty amazing especially compared to earlier in his career when he had no finesse. EDIT: had to add this in at the end when you're talking about the bench I think you're absolutely right. I think Jerebko and Bell can be counted on at least to play with good defense and energy but it was telling to me that Kerr kept the starters in even in garbage time, because despite being down if felt like the lead was still fragile and that Paul George or someone else could suddenly go off and Kerr wanted a blowout as a statement and to help the morale of the team especially after the shitty Suns game.

JVG and Mark Jackson are like that old couple that wants a divorce but are too lazy to commit to it. Jackson fishing for compliments from Breen when discussing how he doesnt't deserve to be in the top 10 assists leaderboard was just absolutely disgusting. Mama there goes that man. Good defense better offense. The cheesiest one liners with no real insight into the game. JVG at least makes some occasionally good points.

2019-03-18 00:22:12 +0000 UTC
This was one of my favorite Warrior games to watch all season. Classic screens and PnR, with a ton of off ball movement. Boogie played so well within the offense, didn't force bad isolation shots and he mostly scored within transition, open shots, or passing. It all starts with the off ball movement.
Love your take on Cook. Cook's passing decision has been so bad all season. Both offensively and defensively he coasts. No off ball movement at all. Only reason he's getting minutes is he can shoot and they desperately need it with the bench.
Anyone notice how well arch'd Steph's shots are when he's slightly contested? Both off the dribble and off the catch. And when he's open the shot is either really good or really off.

Alch - super insightful video. You taught me a lot. Thank you. Especially the part about Steph calling for the ball at the end of the 3rd, and Draymond ignoring Steph. That's insightful. Steph had just hit a three. He was loose. He was already cooking with vintage Curry spice on the night. It is the little things like that that Draymond just doesn't get. Just like KD calling for the ball at the end of regulation against the Clippers, only to have Draymond try to dribble through four dude and not even get the shot off.

What about a scenario where KD leaves and GSW sign Boogie? Ya'll think that's likely (IF KD leaves)?
2019-03-17 21:02:26 +0000 UTC
It's funny that many including myself can't seem to stop thinking about next year in the middle of this year. I do it all the time. I have to agree with what KD said, "why can't we just enjoy this year". I guess we can blame the players signing one year contracts with a player opt out the 2nd year for that. I do think Cousins will always have a rough time switching in the PNR, but it sure is nice not to get bullied underneath by opposing centers. The Bucks and Thunder have killed us that way. Still KD's ability to play D on anybody and do everything well has so much value, we shouldn't take him for granted. Just keep Klay, early in the year when he was trying to turn himself into Kyrie dribbling himself open was just so not him, now he's straight up Ballin. Please just keep Klay.

2019-03-17 20:29:46 +0000 UTC
I think I like Boogie a little bit more. It might be recency biais, but I just think he fits so well with Klay and that second unit, which makes him easier to stagger with Steph than KD. Tim Kawakami tweeted something to that effect last night. Dray+Steph and Klay+DeMarcus are great combos. KD can fit with anybody, but it won't be as symbiotic on the court as those others imo. Plus Boogie is a much better and willing passer than KD with his iso tendencies.
2019-03-17 20:28:28 +0000 UTC
DeMarcus is such a beast. If Durant was comfortable playing more off ball Cousins could easily average a triple double with the Warriors. Like you mentioned though hes shown enough that he will get a big contract offer. He might not get any max offers thrown his way but there will definitely be some teams who throw big money at him.
