LOVED the GoT reference (I LOLd). Shame you can't do GoT episode recaps / breakdowns at this point.
Fingers crossed for a legit Dubs reign of fire tonight.

Alch do you want Bucks or Raptors in the finals? I want the Raptors. They can't kill us from 3 nearly as well and we can play zone in the paint very freely. Raptors have less defenders that can attack our backcourt successfully. Bucks have too many threats on the outside and inside, honestly better overall than ours. Freakin Lopez was lighting the Raptors up tonight. It's ridiculous how their net rating is almost as good when Giannis is off the floor.

Refs were trying to keep it close. We had a lot of open shots but 22 fta vs 3 fta is still ridiculous, it was the only reason they were in the game. The other reason is it took a while for Klay to heat up. Imo this game was pure domination. No doubt Blazers will have a different strategy next time. I honestly believe Curry is still affected by injury but those easy open shots helped him.

Your right having the ball is giving him more energy. But with no KD that is cause and effect. I agree it was closer than appeared. They may not have the personal, but this drop shit is just too easy imo. Id rather live with the mistakes of switching and spread out the offense. I left Dray getting postered out just for you 😉

GSW will need to play better. That wasn't your typical Lillard on display. As bad as POR played, it was still just a three point game with 1 minute left in the 1st half. Only reason it was a 9 pt game at halftime was that Curry hit two 3's off PnR to end the half. POR had 21 turnovers but GSW only had a total of 10 pts off those turnovers. GSW can't afford to mess around in this series. Just take care of business. Offense was at its best with screen and roll. Curry doesn't have more energy with KD out; he simply has the ball more. Having the ball is what gives him energy. People are saying Stotts needs to go small and switch, as if POR hasn't tried that before. Of course they've tried that in the past. It was not successful. Fact of the matter is, it doesn't matter how POR schemes to defend PnR. They don't have the personnel to stop it no matter what they try. Can't stop GSW PnR bc they simply have the better playmakers and the most lethal PnR player of all time.

Did you catch Bell missing Browns hand after the game leaving Brown hanging? Bell recognized it and jumped back to shake his hand. After that room charge Bell had better. Glad to c Bell making some impact. He's going to die if Jones moves ahead of him off the bench in a week. Won't happen but that would be tough. We will need size if we get the Bucks in the finals, someone will need to step in.

the thing with that is, in both those series, Curry got fouled multiple times shooting the 3 but no calls were made. They must've ran out of 3 pt fouls because they gave them all to Lou Williams/Harden in their respective series

9 threes was in the Finals last year in game 2 I believe. Also I thought that second unit was key in keeping the lead and even extending it. Obviously, Steph was lights out but I thought Klay's defense was great and even Steph had some good moments. That being said, I expect Dame and CJ to come out with more aggression in game 2 and I would not be surprised if they stole that game.

That line of reasoning defiantly came up in the post game press conference....as no one wanted to say that D is stupid we'll eat that up as they want them to continue with that nonsense.
2019-05-15 23:23:17 +0000 UTC
You said you liked Curry drawing the foul in the beginning, but I'd rather see that against the Clippers and Rockets than here. Feels like we'll finally see the Warriors play against clean teams for the rest of the playoffs

I feel like the warriors weren’t punishing the blazers on the drop defence as much as they could. I mean, the splash bros could’ve dropped 12 threes each if Kerr wanted to abuse that drop defence. It might be Kerr playing the 4D chess mind game to put Stout in a very difficult position between completely abandoning the stupid strategy and continuing to play Kanter for his rebounding value. Just a thought.

This morning Skip Bayless said the only chance Blazers have is if KD returns and messes up the chemistry, yesterday Chris Broussard said KD has robbed us of SC30 greatness...it’s to the point that a lot of folks are genuinely of the opinion that we are better without KD...I swear KD stay getting slandered by main stream media...external hate is the be expected but the internal unappreciation is why KD is leaving...51% of dub nation prefers the KD less dubs, despite ownership /management/players appreciation of KD...so for the record I just want to set the “KD holds steph curry back” Narrative straight once and for all. KD’s 1st game with us he scored 27 points and the spurs blew us out as curry was deferring trying to welcome KD. KD was new to the locker room
So he didn’t complain...then, enough was enough and KD spoke up, per espn: “I just said to him, ‘Don’t worry about me,'” Durant told ESPN of his ongoing dialogue with Curry. “I said, ‘Just play your game. I’ll figure it out. I’ll figure it out around you. You’re the engine of this team, and I know that. I’m not trying to come over and feel like everything just revolves around me. Just do you, man. I’m going to play around you. I’ve played this game long enough. I know how to score. I know how to find the ball. Just go out there and play your game.’ And that’s what he’s been doing.Durant’s dialogue seemed to work and Curry said that KD’s words only help with “chemistry and camaraderie:”
“For lack of a better term, he said I need to get in my bag and be aggressive,” Curry told ESPN of Durant’s message. “That back-and-forth dialogue is where you build chemistry and camaraderie to get through the season. You understand what each other needs to hear. It was not a come-to-Jesus meeting; it’s just being locked in, observing what’s going on and having each other’s back. You need that encouragement along the way.”
That being said I’m excited about the KD injury as if SC30 and Klay play just like they are now, KD is so good and efficient he can put up 27,5&5 within our movement offense. With SC30 and Klay being aggressive, And if they don’t that’s either on Kerr for calling the iso or Curry/Klay deferring...that’s not on KD...KD strives to be perfect on the court thus he was attracted to our movement offense thinking it would be a match made in heaven and for the most part it has been outside of KD getting blamed for Curry struggles while simultaneously being accused of riding Curry coattails despite his hardware (2xFMVP) saying otherwise...sad

Let's hope the Warriors don't think, this is gonna be easy and then not be ready for the all important game 2 and.....it's kinda hard to see how the warriors could not think that way after getting so many wide, wide open looks off picks. Portland is capable of having a shoot the lights out game and they do rebound even though their defensive effort was pathetic.

I think Steph struggles to maintain his focus in games when they aren't competitive...thats when he gets sloppy. Have you been watching the "Steph vs. The Game" series on FB??? He said something about thinking about golf during dead balls in the game...his mom said something about how she and Dell can tell when he's getting bored and how they know what's coming next....probably those wild passes and stuff that we see...I guess creating a few turnovers is better than popping ADHD like pills on the daily 🤷🏾♀️

Im really glad to see Damian Jones. His first touch of the ball was a terrible turnover but I wont blame him too much for that. Its definitely been a long time. Im actually hoping he can get a little more time in this series cuz who knows how useful he could possibly be in really short spot minutes vs. the Bucks or Raptors.
Anyway. This game, in my opinion, was an outlier. I do expect the Blazers to make defensive adjustments and play WAY better both in game 2 and when they return home. If anyone thinks this series is a sweep, theyre severely and mistakeningly underrestimating the Blazers. IF the Blazers arent careful, it could be over in 5. But I see this series going 6 games cuz the Warriors (epsecially curry...) will probably get trounced in game 3 when they shift over to Portland.
Aside from that, watching this game was an honest breath of fresh air. Not having to deal with PJ Tucker, Pat Bev, Chris Paul, or James harden was just soooooooooooooooo nice to see, it was relaxing to my eyes honestly. No nonsense flopping. Terrible foul baiting calls. There was actual basketball being played last night. Not 23 seconds of iso dribbling only to be bailed out by a flop call. The Warriors played great defense last night. And Im loving Bell and Jerebko off the bench right now. Hopefully they keep that up.
I had to overlook them right now, but who can really blame me?.......Im looking at the Bucks and the Raptors. If Im the Warriors, I'm praying to god that the Raptors win. We lose home court advantage either way right? While going to Toronto is worse than Milwaukee, Giannis and company are just too much. They are a frieght train right now. And if KD isnt 100% ready to go by then, the Bucks style of play is asking for a matchup nightmare. Im hoping the Raptors pull through. But Im no Clint Capela. Be careful what you wish for. Both of those teams are matchup nightmares for the Warriors. But it should make for a very exciting finals.

2019-05-15 21:05:05 +0000 UTC
Rare Damian Jones sighting. I lowkey forgot this dude existed. Knowing the Warriors we'll probably make this series go way longer than it should, Steph will play hella loose, draymond with the overzealous passes and Klay will try to shoot off the dribble. I see us taking to this to 6 or even 7. If we really wanted this one we could sweep them no doubt but the hunger diminished after the Rockets series and our guys are pretty cocky these days. Just praying no one gets hurt if this series goes longer than it should and that we can stay fresh for the Bucks.

FYI Dray WAS in the restricted zone on that offensive on Kanter but because of where the ball was caught it didn't matter. You can still get an offensive foul in the restricted zone you just can't get the "charge" call.

Not tryna take anything away from Portland but... This is who they are... Just an almost team with one of the sweetest paths this yr to the Wcf... Yes their backcourt is dynamic but they shit on defense... I just hope this series doesn't blow our heads up cause I feel we WILL be playing the bucks in the finals and that's a whole other book...

Enes Kanter was comically bad, joke is on Turkey on not broadcasting his game.
This team plays so differently without KD. The pace is completely different, we punish turnovers and missed shots like no other team in the league. More movement without the ball makes the offense too chaotic for the other team to handle, everyone becomes a genuine threat. Blazers should have been blown out by 30+ but refs kept giving them these absurd free throw disparity.

Game 2 should be interesting. Like you said, will the Warriors respect Portland, or will they allow Portland to sneak up on them. P.s. that ish you said about Steph's parents is so true. They broadcast the coin toss that determined which parent would wear which jersey and Dell Sr was already wearing a Portland jersey. Lolol. His face told it all when he found out he had to wear the GSW jersey.
