I wanted the team to face Raptors because Bucks were the better shooting team. Right now the Raptors are playing like how the Bucks were supposed to play with better paint dominance. Goddamn even taking 1 shooter in Klay out completely killed our offense. And almost everyone got killed on defense. Bogut, Livingston, Cousins, etc. They are unplayable defensively unless rotated perfectly. This series is a wrap unless Klay or KD comes back and even then, we lack proper defenders.

I honestly think the most impressive thing about this team is their fight and understanding it's defense and effort that win in the playoffs. Most of the best offensive teams to ever play have never really win in the playoffs because it's a different game and they just think they'll be able to rely in their amazing offense. Football or bball. This team knows their offense can easily carry them throughout the season and will be able to put in enough buckets to compete in playoffs. But they understand that they have to play with effort, toughness and physically compete, bang, dive and scrap. And to do so while mentally playing smart and tough, making the right play at the right time when the physicality and stress is at it's highest, never letting that fluster or rattle them. That shit is what is necessary to WIN the games this time of year. That's why this core group of guys have been able to consistently win when it matters. That's what most super teams can't muster up. That's why it's not just about talent, and why games aren't played on paper, no matter how much the world/haters/media/fans think it is when they see a roster and judge who is going to win. That is why Jordan was so beloved.
Yea he was talented, but he didn't win because he was the most talented guy in the floor. He, and this team won because the desire and will to win, and the mental and physical toughness it takes to always figure out how to get it done. That toughness and desire is so underrated in all of those guys, and it's contagious with the role players. And look what it's brought out of Boogie. That's why regular dudes can come here and ball out in big moments only to leave and never be heard from again. From Steph to Dray to IG and S.dot and motherfucking Klay. (Who was playing like "fuck you Klay" tonight. Like game 6 Klay with a little more "fuck you" to it. Just rewatch some of those shots!) They have 5 guys who posses the it factor and most teams only have 1 or 2. That's why they're so hard to beat. Talent helps get them there. But that is what puts them over the edge when it seems to matter the most. When all is said and done, Most people, even dubs fans, will just talk about how talented and good they each were at their roles. I'm going to remember how when their back were up against the wall, when they needed something to happen for them, they always seemed to force it to happen. To make the play, get the stop, hit the shot, go on the run, they always seem to come through. That's why I and I believe most people love Klay, especially killah game 6 Klay. Someone always steps the fuck up. Over and over and over and over and over again. That's why this team is so fucking impressive.

I think that run by Curry was mainly because we pushed in transition. One of the 3s was because Kawhi sagged off making a rookie mistake. Just shows how insanely dangerous Curry is with even an inch of space. Then he had the steal in transition for a layup.
The 3Q was a bit different. A lot of these buckets were facilitated by Curry's off ball screens. I mean this guy just does everything. We played classic Warriors ball in the 3rd with all those screening actions.

Ben Taylor just posted this (https://twitter.com/elgee35/status/1135632769197854721?s=21) and it shows how bad Kawhi's defense was. He was bad both on the ball and off the ball. The strategy of exploiting Kawhi's defense and wear him out is a legitimate strategy right now.
Paradox
2019-06-04 01:17:29 +0000 UTC
People are gonna think the turning point happened at the start of the 3Q but it actually started in the late 2Q. We were down 12 with 4 min left in the 2Q. In those last 4 min, Curry scored 12 pts and had 1 assist. That's what got us back in the game. It could've easily been a 15-20 deficit at half. I think we waited too long to give him the ball and allow him to initiate the offense. We can't let Curry's first made basket come with 3:55 left in the half. That's just inexcusable. That's why the offense was looking so impotent. Everything changed after that bc we were running the offense thru Curry much more. You're right about Cousins/Bogut. I didn't think they could be effective before the series started but we're seeing a lot of the advantages of playing them vs TOR. GSW found something. Klay's status is gonna be critical. Simply too valuable in this series bc of everything he does on both ends. Has played great defense on Kawhi.
2019-06-04 00:55:35 +0000 UTC
I peeped the same thing about the temp in the arena! Me and my wife were watching it and I first noticed how Van Fleet wasn’t sweating at all and then I saw a close of Draymond. Now if Draymond not sweating, you know something’s going on.
Now to get to the ins and outs of the game.
In Klay we trust lol but there’s always a game in each finals where he starts out unconscious and either pushes the lead or keeps GS hanging around. It’s mainly in road games. The defense was much better but let’s be honest, Toronto missed a lot of make-able shots. Just like in game one however, j still felt that GS could turn it on and change the game around. Toronto isn’t the better team, but they’re a team that isn’t going to beat themselves too often so that’s what makes it tough. GS played more aggressive and answered the bell through the adversity. The crowd, and the refs (they got a fair whistle at times). Boogie was sensational, Kerr and Adams made a hellacious adjustment by switching the rotations at half. Toronto wasn’t ready for it and it effected their whole game. Toronto’s “others” aren’t good enough to stick with GS but they play with effort. It reminded me of the Clippers series. Lowry really is an eastern conference CP, hate it or love it. He’s good at mucking things up and just being an irritant. When he wasn’t in the game no one noticed lmaoooo. That goes to show his impact.
As far as injuries, I don’t think Klay needs to play if he can’t move. I’m all for winning but not at the expense of jeopardizing the longevity of someone else’s career. He’ll do what he physically can, I’m sure. If he can play in spurts that’d be great but I don’t blame him for not being able to play. We’ve potentially seen the last of KD in a warriors jersey. It saddens me to say but I don’t expect him in this series. Now will he want to return is another discussion. If he walks. I like us resigning Boogie and beefing up our bench. So it’s a win win for GS off-season wise.
Game 3 will be vintage Steph. He knows he needs to do more and it’ll be screens galore for him to get good looks. I also think he’ll play as a huge decoy next game to set up the lob and back door cuts. ( man this is so much writing 😅 sorry to whoever reads all this.. is turning into that “guy” 😮

I bet he's sitting there thinking about all of the minutes he would've been playing in the Finals had he not given the Warriors his butt to kiss. It's a good life lesson for him- he deserves to sit on the bench he isn't trusted in their rotations yet. Warriors, on the other hand, groomed him for these moments and would've had him out there with the quickness!
2019-06-04 00:31:54 +0000 UTC
Glad you said that about Lowry. He's not JUST a dirty player. The dude is an eastern conference Chris Paul. Same flopping, bitchass, dirty mentality. No wonder he was always a bonafied choker before Kawhi got there. Cant win with dudes like Paul and Lowry on your rosters. Theyre too trash to do it themselves, so they gotta have a second superstar carry their load while they resort to borderline bushleague shit

I think the Raptors blew their shot of winning this series with yesterdays loss. It's kind of hard to see them winning a game in Oracle, especially considering the fall of Kawhi. That Draymond blow by clip you showed had me especially concerned, as that's very uncharacteristic of him. He hasn't looked the same since that Philly series and I think it's only going to get worse if your theory about the arena temperature is true. The only way I see the Raps pulling this out is if Klay goes out for a few games and if KD remains out.

This was the most emotional game of the year for me. I was estatic after this game. Walked away shouting to the social media rooftops post-game about how great of a team win this was. We literally couldn't have won without EVERYONE that stepped out on that court last night. It's like everyone on the team had their moments in the game where they kept us in it, brought us back and played outstanding defense in that second half. Then I wake up to my feed and here's the mainstream media talking about who's the MVP of the game, Steph disappeared, Draymond is the most important player and all this other BS. I couldn't even enjoy the team win without the media trying to diminish someone's importance to the team. I've accepted the fact that half these mfs don't understand basketball and their sorry asses are still the ones voting for these NBA awards. First Take debating who would you rather to take an open 3 to close a game, Steph or Iggy? Like really y'all... Everything related to Steph is so damn toxic and I just hate to hear it. Even I get tired of us Steph/Warriors fans defending the man but hell, even Andre said it post game. He's still playing to protect Steph's legacy. The media is on some weirdo shit with Steph man... Trying to just appreciate getting to watch all these players, they've got mad heart💯

That’s the thing I’ve noticed with Quinn Cook the past 2 seasons he’s been with us.
He drains a couple 3’s/jumpers and you’d think he’s gonna shoot more but no Quinn ain’t the heat seeker, at least not in the NBA. It’s like he wants to protect his % it seems. I wanted him to shoot that open 3 instead of passing it back and forth but I’m not surprised he didn’t.

Didn't you remember a story about Rick Barry making free throws after a time expired game in Milwaukee with fans throwing things at him.....seems to me you remember some things otherwise lost to time. I remember a T.V. game against the Bucks in Gus Williams rookie year with the Warriors trailing the Bucks by 31 in the 2nd quarter and Gus gets a steal in the last minute to give the Warriors the lead and a win. Someone will tell the story of this game in 30 or 40 year but it probably just won't be me or you.

Incredible point you made about Iggy possibly exaggerating that hard screen on Bogut for future encounters down the stretch. I never would have thought of it like that and most other people wouldn't have either. He's so damn smart I wouldn't put it past him. Huge game for Boogie that being said, we don't win this game down the stretch without Steph giving us momentum with those buckets before the half, the screens he was setting, and the doubles/triples he attracted in those last two Q's.
He is FMVP of the series so far, averaging 28 and leading, and unfortunately the talking heads aren't recognizing it. Usually, that shit doesn't bother me, but the media folks are the people who vote on FMVP, so I'm really hoping that if we close this out they finally recognize that this all doesn't work without the chef.

Agree with the earlier comment about Kawhi getting all kinds of calls. You could argue that the Ref's think that Kawhi is such a nice guy, he is what the ref's would prefer but it can't be that as Steph is a nice guy and he doesn't get calls, hell Steph can barely play defense without a ref blowing him up. Kawhi bull dozes his way through the lane like it's his special right. He knocked Klay over, Looney and Dray same. Can he commit a charge? Is it possible?

Excellent point about the temperature. I thought it was just Curry not sweating (he needed hydration pills). Kawhi is just very slow footed right now and that may even be why he's getting these ridiculously easy ass calls. Curry needs to set more screens because those were absolute money last night, put a down screen on Kawhi or something to make him work.

Obligatory comment: FUCK Mark Jackson and JVG. They're actually even more biased than watching the Raptors feed.
Before I watch the video, I hope you point out just what kind of absurd calls Kawhi has been getting away with. Probably most of his LeBron/Giannis drives has been offensive fouls, one injuring Looney. Refs are also saving ass with all the no-calls on Klay and Curry.
On our end, I thought Boogie and Bogut provided a much needed dynamic offense by taking pressure off the perimeter. Great move by Kerr.
