Usually big department stores and other stores will mark their items high enough that they can one day make up a sale to drive up more business. I don't do this because I want my merchandise to be fairly priced year round. I tried using discount codes publicly (and even for me to use) and they haven't worked because of the way the profit margins work on Patreon. I generated a new code that way you should IN THEORY be able to save 20% on your order when you check out.
