Rules Part II - Inspiration and Overview

We have officially reached the second arc in the story! I often enjoy long-form stories and seeing where they go, and it has been an honor to work on Rules and have you all join me along the way.

As it stands now, Jeremy and Sage have been pushed to the absolute brink, and there's no telling if their relationship will survive. David still longs for Sage, and many unforeseen consequences lurk in the shadows due to Sage's behavior.

Join me as we watch what unfolds next.

Update - After reading some comments, I realized that book II doesn't quite fit what I'm going for here, so I've changed the title to Part II. Think if it like a new season of a show or new arc rather than a book release. This was done mainly to help me keep the Patreon library organized.

I’m intrigued! With the events of chapters 24-26 (especially 26), it kinda felt like the story was nearing a conclusion. I feel like for Sage to convince Jeremy to stay, it’ll take her most convincing gaslighting yet lol. Also, is that Theo in that one pic?

Yeah, I also don't follow this. Book 2? Maybe I could see that when David fucked Sage in the office but now at this point, I just don't see it. As the old saying goes to much mud in the water at this point. Shrug. I really hope it's not similar to another story from another author where we have to see sage become a mindless bimbo while falling to the bottom of a well. Guess I'll just have to wait and see.

A Book II? Interesting, because at this point, both Sage and Jeremy are absolutely pushed into a corner. Jeremy's been reduced to primal responses - fight, flight or freeze. So far he's froze, and now he's gone into flight mode. There's no way he can endure the status quo or any version of it as it is now, it will destroy him, and it's very close to destroying the marriage. I can't see how it continues from Jeremy's side. Either he walks away permanently, or he's going to have to get nasty to both or either Sage and David, and mess them up. There's no middle ground for Jeremy, no role or fall back as a stable cuck, because David won't accept any stable situation. His goals are either Jeremy gone completely and Sage left to him, or Jeremy so completely crushed he might as well be gone and Sage left to him, and even that might just be a step in a worsening process. Jeremy might leave, but I can't imagine him accepting whatever David would impose. As for Sage and Jeremy, though her love is genuine, she's also crossed too many personal lines within herself, and relationship lines with him. It's going to take radical work on her part to salvage her marriage. I don't know if she can, she really fucked it up. And there's no indication she's really coping with the personality flaws and deficits that turned her into David's sex toy and Jeremy's sadist. She's completely broken and distraught and desperate, but I guess it all depends on how she puts herself back together, and who is there to engage or manipulate. Not looking good for her, I could see a combination of grief, despair, self-loathing, self destructiveness and David pushing her into extreme promiscuity or sex slavery. Pushing her to things that Jeremy will never forgive her for, or that she can't ever forgive herself for? The girl's at risk of a truly abyssal tailspin. David, of course, is the true malign Actor. He's basically got one constant agenda, the separate destruction of both Sage and Jeremy - Jeremy total, Sage turned into his private property. He is completely malignant, completely relentless, and he won every battle every step of the way, leaving both Sage and Jeremy deeply damaged and broken. If David keeps being part of the story, then he wins. He's literally got them both exactly where he wants them - separated, out of touch with each other, emotionally broken, Jeremy expelled and Sage captive. He has no morals, is absolutely ruthless, and entirely prepared to do anything, particularly since he's so close to total victory. The fact that he sent sex vids of a threesome to Jeremy (likely old footage) likely means that he's got multiple sex videos, his own, and likely he's acquired everything on Sage's phone. He can use them to destroy Sage's job and career, including career prospects. Or for that matter, Jeremy's job and career. Or he can use it to blackmail one of them, or both into compliance. Hell, he can use blackmail to force one to persuade the other to comply. As to other tactics, he'll certainly tell anyone whatever lies he needs to get what he wants. He'll definitely do anything and everything he can to stop contact or communication between Sage and Jeremy. He'll do whatever it takes to make sure she doesn't talk to him, or that he doesn't talk to her. The fact that she's trying so desperately right now to reach out to Jeremy suggests David doesn't have the control he wants, but he does want it, and it'll be hard to keep him from getting it... he might even steal or smash her phone (perhaps pretending an accident - or deliberately to show her her place). He'll do his best to control and insist on supervising any contact. Likely, he'll try to force stage to a script, and threaten or blackmail her.. With regard to Sage, he's shown he can sexually dominate her in all kinds of ways, and he's exhibited tactics already that we see in abusive domestic relationships - isolation, cutting off or controlling access. He can step up these tactics, for instance, taking away Sage's phone, locking her in the house or in a room, taking away her clothes and shoes to keep her from leaving, micro-managing and supervising all external contact (including Jeremy) so she says and does only what he scripts. One thing which I've been waiting for, arises out of his statement "she'll fuck who I decide." Up to now, that's been only David. But we've seen he has his physical limits as to how often, how hard and thoroughly he can fuck her. If he decides she needs breaking or wearing down, or if he thinks he can use it to bring about her emotional surrender, or to alienate Jeremy from her permanently, he'll whore her out hard - gangbangs, prostitution, strangers, interracial, friends - whatever will exhaust her most, or do the most emotional damage to her or Jeremy. David is close to a total win, and really, the only obstacle is his own stupidity and incompetence. The Rules - as made by David, going forward, will be a rolling nightmare for both of them. It's going to be incredibly hard for either Jeremy or Sage to fight back from the corners he's put them in, and even incredibly harder for them to find each other or salvage their relationship. I dunno, in a situation like that, time is on David's side. Sage and Jeremy have to fight back and win in only a few very short chapters. If they can't, it's Davids. But if David is pushed out of the story, where's the driver? I don't think Theo has it in him to be the new David. Even without David, both Sage and Jeremy are damaged - Jeremy's emasculated, Sage needs domination that Jeremy can't give and is now sadistic to him. Does Jeremy rebuild himself into a Cuck/Master, getting off on his wife with other men, but taking complete control of who she fucks and what she does? I could see that working for Sage, and for both actually. Or does Sage take control, Sadistic to Jeremy, fucking at will, while Jeremy embraces his sub-cuck role? And how does it affect the other dynamics of their marriage? How do they trust each other? Particularly, how does Jeremy trust Sage. Meh. I'll wait and see.
