Building Specificity

You’re setting yourself up for a difficult time if your character has nothing to do but stand/sit there just delivering a line. Give them something to do! Where are they? How they get there? What’s the purpose of the moment here? Is the character trying to vent? Does it matter who the secondary character is? If so, what’s their relationship? Is there hostility?
