📝 | This map is a tough one to figure out which is almost always a sign of poor sales. This is a disappointing debut number for San Jose.

For some reason they added a couple hundred tickets to the map for this one. Some floor seats and some random rows here and there. I was looking at the map or next weeks Dynamite in Utah and it looks rough. Tons of tickets left. Lots of floor seats left. Don't think there's been an update on that show in over 2 weeks

2024-10-14 18:05:06 +0000 UTCI saw someone mentioned there is zero Advertising for the Salt Lake show. TK needs to reinvest the TV $ into advertising. It will make a big difference

2024-10-14 15:27:43 +0000 UTCYeah but they’ve done smaller arenas in the past and the Collision residency in Arlington in a 2k seat arena proved that. I get why they want bigger buildings, but it looks so bad on TV when it looks darker than a movie theater because they can’t light 50-75% of the building because they only have 2-3k in an 18,000-20,000 seat building. It gives off the perception of AEW being “cold.”

They always do well in L.A. and have done well in San Diego in the past so they don’t think they have to put in a full effort to market in California markets/West Coast markets. With two days left just lower the tickets prices and/or give comps to local media, schools, etc.

2024-10-14 05:45:50 +0000 UTCThe Bay Area is a great place for pro wrestling (WWE has sold out a couple tapings and a house show in the last year) but you have to advertise the show. I'm a Bay Area resident and a wrestling fan who has gone to AEW shows before and I haven't seen anything on TV or online, no billboards, I haven't heard anything on the radio, I haven't even gotten an email and I'm definitely on SAP and AEW's email lists. AEW just does not promote their shows except for the NY area shows and maybe the PPVs.

2024-10-13 23:11:04 +0000 UTCI think there are two potential upticks in attendance with AEW: 1) Creative improving and this will take time like at least 6 months imo before we see its effect 2) Heavy Local Promotion and Marketing but this should see instant effects even if the effects are not as impactful as #1

2024-10-13 18:42:30 +0000 UTCThis is California and a big city. There’s no excuse for having less than 3k tickets sold. It might get to 3k by Wednesday but this should be a 5-6k show. Their marketing team is beyond terrible.

2024-10-13 18:33:13 +0000 UTCHard to get people to a show at 4:30 on a Wednesday when you don’t market, overprice from the start & don’t announce big time money matches until the day of the show. Early success in LA has completely ruined the way they market on the West Coast. Look at Salt Lake

2024-10-13 17:35:11 +0000 UTCRaw did close to 12,000. Even at its worst day, Raw had over 7,000. I know Tony must have chose this because they love wrestling. Either people are extremely loyal to WWE or they don’t just care for AEW.
