Getting D'Lo when we all expected to get nothing was a damn nice surprise, even if it Hard Capped us and made for a very tense salary capped season. ... but when you proposed the Orlando trade I nearly fell out of my seat. Even if *that deal* doesn't happen, D'Lo is worth a big deal to some team at some point in the future, so I love the options he brings both on and off the court. Looking forward to your take on how our rookies play this summer. Keep bringing that top-rate content!

Report now is KD and Kyrie made plans prior to the season. Dray knew...Im not saying he should have done it. But at the time it was like OMG that is going to push him out. When in reality it sounds like his bags were packed! Thats why Dray emptied the clip.

Nah man KD ending up going to the Nets doesn’t mean Draymond is vindicated for what he said in November. In fact what Draymond said in November was probably a pretty impactful factor in him leaving. Kd wanting to go to New York had nothing to do with the clippers game that night. Kd was locked in and wanted the ball to end the game, which he should’ve gotten and kept his criticism of dray to his decision making on the court and Draymond called him a bitch and insulted him. No justification.

One can say what one wants, but losing KD is not the end of the story. But, trading IG is the turning of the page. Dray was right when he said that the Warriors won without KD, and could win again; however, the Warriors DID NOT WIN without IG. Truly the end of an era...

So here’s my take. First, there have been four moments over the last three years that have created concern in my mind about the long-term health of the team, where I saw cracks developing: 1) Signing Durant in 2016: resulted in clearing out their depth, guarantying a huge future salary and limiting the ability to make changes, and I wasn’t a Durant fan and didn’t think he would necessarily fit in. 2) Iguodala’s 2017 contract after free agency: I didn’t like the way he shopped himself and really leveraged the team as much as possible, and it seemed like re-signing him (and Livingston) was tied to Durant’s new deal. That created less flexibility and, as much as I like Iggy as a player and recognize his value, I think he’s been overpaid. 3) McCaw’s strange exit in 2018 under restricted free agency: The first negative sign in the Dub’s youth movement, and raised questions about what within the team might have caused him to want out. 4) The late 2018 Durant-Green blowup in Staples: that told me KD was likely leaving, and that’s when I stated thinking they should deal him, and with Boston as the target. Who knows if either of them would have gone with that, but it would have meant they’d already be playing together, and it might have meant GSW or Boston would be champions right now. My thinking on Iguodala right now is that with Durant injured and so gone for 2020 getting rid of an aging, overpriced piece only of real value in a championship run was important. I’m not certain if his book tour comments were his shot at the organization knowing he was gone, or if he’s gone because he made those comments, but gone he is and that’s a good thing. Fuck KD, I don’t really care what happens with him now, but my guess is he’ll recover fine but then realize he’s back in OKC with Russ part deux, except the pressure and criticism in the Apple will be orders of magnitude more than in OKC. I don’t think his relationship with Steph had anything to do with his leaving, this isn’t high school. I don’t know how the Dubs pulled off the Russell deal, but I assume it means KD’s getting the 5-year Bird exception contract. That they got something of value is great, and it does make sense that he’s only stopping in the Bay temporarily (Dec 15 is the date upon which he can get traded). But at least he’ll fill the Klay hole for a little while. I can’t find anything that confirms there’s any hard cap in the NBA, and I don’t see any reason why they can’t sign Looney as he seems to qualify for the Bird exception, and it also seems like they should be able to match any offer for Bell if they want; I’m not sure what the rules are related to offering Boogie that 20% raise, though, but I wouldn’t think that would have changed by Durant leaving and getting the Russell contract instead. In any case, I don't think the Warriors are done, and looking at it as positively as possible they've disposed of a couple problems. What I’m really concerned about, though, is their ability to hang on to Cook, who I understand is being wooed hard by the Nets… 😂

I think we hold on to Russell while Klay rehabs as All Star guards are a dime a dozen in today's league and he'll surely fetch a pretty handsome price either near the trade deadline or next summer (which is going to have a really lackluster free agency class). There are plenty of teams that are looking for a formidable point guard so the potential trade destinations are endless.
