I was actually also referring to those same "horrible teams" he took to the finals. If you put the context they weren't nearly as bad as the media makes it out to be, but more importantly, the competition was just whack as hell. That's why both times he got swept in the finals (2007 and 2018)

I dunno Jose, I think in some ways if you add real context to LeBron's career it strengthens his argument. Dude took some absolutely horrendous teams to the finals, whereas MJ had an all time pool of talent and chemistry surrounding him.

I've never believed in the LeBron "goat status" or even the MJ vs LeBron debate, but DAMN, once you know the context you really wonder why it's even a conversation.
Not hating but LeBron strikes me as the kind of guy whose legacy decreases if you add the real context.
After watching a bit of MJ I'm starting to think LeBron may not even be top 5, these dudes like Kareem, Hakeem, Magic, and Bird seem to be too underrated because of the age we live in, I'm gonna look into them.

I imagine so, there's always those who will go against the norm or set some kind status quo. In the case of Wiseman, the fact that there isn't much game footage on him I think is probably hurting his selection potential... in this scenario I think a prelim draft and tourney would probably help him with the questions surrounding him. Generally speaking, guys choosing not to be a part of it would allow a lot more "sleepers" and late bloomers to come into some golden opportunities.

It be dope! Another opportunity for revenue, and ultimately balance out the league. I wonder if cats like Wiseman would sit anyway and risk being a mystery.

Alchemy, that gen you dropped in regards to summer league before the draft or even some kind of tourney would be fantastic! Imagine they hold some kind of prelim draft or selection process were player are selected temporarily and coached by organizations, then they have a one or two week long tournament. Teams get to actually get a real feel for players, early on see who might be a bad selection or a sleeper nobody knows about. After that due the regular draft and normal summer league, back to business as usual.

This doc came out at the perfect time, I miss sports so much. This is worst than the summer break from Basketball and football.

It's crazy that Bird & McHale also combined for 63 that game...along with 27 boards, 12 assists & 8 blocks...monstrous!

yeah that team didn't have a chance in hell...looking at the box score on bball ref, the Bulls lineup featured: Oakley, Orlando Woolridge, Dave Corzine & Kyle Macy. Funny thing was they had an old George Gervin off the bench, only played 5 minutes!

Ahh ya you are right! My point was more that the series wasn’t really close. Jordan in gawd mode and they get swept. But I guess the context is needed that it was against an all time team

btw Alch I think you're talking about Game 1 of that '86 series when the Celtics won 123-104...Game 2 was the 63-point game the Celtics won 135-131 in double OT. as someone on twitter said, it was Mike and 4 cokeheads against one of the greatest teams ever lol

"Some philosophical ether" lmao...that's probably what happened though. Krause was a misshapen misanthrope with a major Napolean complex, and like Steve Kerr said "he couldn't get out of his way". Imagine breaking up one of the greatest teams of all time bc your feelings are hurt.

I agree. I see a lot of fans say that jordan could shutdown klay or steph. But I think people fail to see the physical and mental fatigue associated with chasing guys around screens for an entire game and how demoralizing it could be for klay and steph to still hit shots on you. Jordan and Pippen were amazing defenders, but I think it would be difficult for them to contain an offense that was primarily perimeter-oriented.

Growing up the Warriors always took the “safe fit” guy and it never worked out.. but then again, this is a different beast now.

One of the interesting things about the documentary to me was the 1984 draft. Portland passed up on Jordan because of team fit. It made me think about this draft. I know this isn't best draft class but if the Warriors get the number 1 pick should they take the best player in the draft class. I think they're going with the best fit because of the whole DLo & Wiggins trade but I wanted to get your thoughts on it.

I got the Warriors..they were just too deep! Bulls didnt have anyone to punish our center and the 3 ball factor!
