I'm big on this kid man. My only worry back then was his attitude, but that doesn't seem like a problem so far. He just needed a good system to thrive in. He's not the leader type like Draymond, he reminds me more of McGee, but better.

Yeah...We are hanging in there for now. I cant afford to lose too many more but Im hoping to grow it back up with hoops picking back up.

Ay Alch, hope things are well. Seems like you've lost a few Patrons in the past few months, hope you're doing ok!

You can hit them I’m sure, but it tightens your window for error. He definitely looked more comfortable letting those go in the short corner.

It’s like a trap.. you got to surprise them with it every once in a while. But once they have seen it, like you said it has too many holes.

Pause... Hahaha. I hear ya. In general, are you opposed to a full front when guarding the post? I imagine Chriss has the vert to try and protect a lob over the top but then he has the same problem as getting sealed under the basket, getting sealed high and the ball getting swung to the opposite side of the court for an easy entry pass, or no?

What up Kyle! Dray's is only an inch longer...pause! But he has his struggles in their too. His trick is the 3/4 front . He jams guys up by almost fronting them but not letting them roll back door either. You bring up a great point in asking this, maybe chriss can learn that from Dray. The problem is when you let these big guys seal you and catch it too deep. Got to do your work early before they set up when you are under sized.

Alchemy! Been hella exciting watching this dude grow this year! Another reason this lockdown been so shitty... Chriss and Poole were really starting to impress, Pascall bouncing back off the rookie wall (I keep going back and watching your breakdowns for the last five, six games of the season). Hopefully we can get a few more games at the end of July. I thought I read something about the non-playoff teams still playing some games in a different location? In any case, I’m curious what you think about Chriss’ ability to guard true Centers versus what Draymond has been able to do. Just watching on TV, Dray look like he got some long ass arms but I have no idea what his standing reach is. And obviously Draymond is a much smarter defended than Chriss but I am curious how you think another season with a former (and undersized) DPOY will help Chriss fair as a starting Center, considering he is a little bit bigger and more athletic than Draymond and they both seem sturdy and strong down on the block, despite a bit undersized. You think Chriss can find ways to make up for his lack of reach?

Just based on positional value I think we don't have to draft a center with Chriss on the roster. Chriss' 4 years of experience alone mean whomever we draft is unlikely to be above him in the rotation. I think a wing would have far more impact in our championship window. Worst case we lose him next season, then we'll still be able to find a rim running big to plug into our system. Best case we retain him and we won't have a logjam at center.

That was very well done as always. I think Marquese has a spot on the team for sure-but you're right. For some playoff matchups-a 6-11, 7 foot dude with a 9 ft 3 standing reach really would help. I remember when people had questions about Javale; that tandem of Pachulia/McGee/Green really got things done overall. Bogut was great but man I love the bounce of Marquese. His timing has gotten a lot better.

Just starting this wonderful sounding and looking video! just a clarification-you said about Marquese's shooting being 20% this year-did you mean his 3-point shooting? His 2 point shooting is .584 for 2019-20. I'll check it again-I just heard "his shooting" not "his 3-point shooting".

The poor Kings man...remember texting my bud (King's fan) about Chriss, then he was traded on draft day. I also remember us going back and forth about Luka on the Kings. Oof.

Thanks for this alc!
Definitely my favourite story this season.
Like you said it’s his balance. I also tend to lean forward when I shoot threes, but for me it’s a power issue (lack of it). Also his feet are really close to each other. Maybe the corner three would be his best bet (PJ Tucker style)

He can find it tho! I was looking at his coaches. Started with Earl Watson who is young and just retired from playing. No doubt there was a Luke Walton effect when he went from that to Jay Triano.

It should be a perfect mix of him coming into his own.. and all of a sudden the court opening up for him.

I think a lot of Dubs fans would consider Chriss a player they love to watch and root for in whatever role the Warriors would designate for him next year. If Chriss is your 5 you will for sure need a bigger body 5 like a Plumlee to help with defending the elite low post 5's but outside that, I believe his game will grow and have no concerns.

I am super excited for more Marquese ESPECIALLY with the splash brothers. He was exciting and I just couldn't help but root for his success. His rim protection and he want to play defense can not be understated. That's hard to find these days. I hope he blooms even more in the upcoming years.
