Added 2023-09-26 00:32:33 +0000 UTCThis was one hell of a creative and entertaining live performance, the concept, the choreography, the outfits and the stage presence were insane...

Hi! I've been binge-watching all your BTS content today HAHA. I love your reactions and I truly love the respect and interest you have in BTS, that's great! <3 That said, I think no one mentioned it, but just FYI, in this performance, Jin was injured. You can see a black cover in his arm/hand because he had a cast under it. If I remember well, he cut himself accidentally and he had to have surgery. I think is impressive how well they made him still part of the performance even though he was injured. Anyways, keep going the BTS content, I'll keep binge-watching, and finally arrive at the actual timeline haha. Best! <3

2023-09-26 05:22:58 +0000 UTCI think the reason some people say to wait to watch the 2019 performance is because the performance is meant to show some of their history and growth since debut, and there are a lot of songs and easter eggs that you might not understand if you haven’t delved into their history. Without that, there are some “OOH I SEE WHAT THEY DID THERE!” moments that you won’t necessarily pick up on (remixes of older songs, reinterpretations of some themes from those songs, understanding the musical and personal growth from their debut era through 2019). That said, I don’t think any of that is necessary to enjoy and be impressed by the performance. It is epic and beautiful and jaw-dropping in parts, especially given that it’s an awardfs show, not a concert. As the others have said, you can definitely appreciate it without all the context, and you’ll eventually get that as you move through BTS content. You can always go listen to the original songs afterward so you can appreciate the differences. I also agree with Andredayyy above - just explore what you like. I definitely recommend Tiny Desk 2020 and BTS Room Live, though - they are both great studio performances that cover multiple BTS eras. Enjoy how you want, and ARMY will watch with you :-) Also, the Western awards performances are NOTHING compared to almost all of their Asian award performances. Seriously, all of them are going to blow you away compared to this.

I think some just want you to get to know the songs first so you can recognize and enjoy them more and be familiar with what they're about and such. I feel like though that you should watch the MMA or MAMA's (I'm not sure which is which performances if im being honest) in order though. Mostly because it's like each year they are better and bigger. So you get to progressively see that. But at the same time it's also not a big deal so just do what you want to do or how you feel. We will watch it no matter what order or way you do things :) it's just fun to see new people enjoy anything BTS xD

2023-09-26 02:16:04 +0000 UTCWatching the 2019 MMA and MAMA live performances are necessary. Then I'd go BTS Tiny Desk 2020 and then BTS Room Live. I dont think it is necessary to see anything before watching these. There is so much content so many songs so many albums unless you're dedicating yourself to going in like release order or by eras I say just go for it. Jump in. You'll recognize things before you know it.
