Sometimes, our spiritual tools feel like they're not getting the job done because the real problem is going on inside of us. Healing and bringing peace to our internal state is the real key to activating our magic, stepping into our destiny, and defeating spiritual attack. Feelings like shame, guilt, regret, and fear can store itself in the body long-term and these energies can act as open doors that allow spell work to work against us. This is why we do shadow work: to heal and clear stagnant energies that make us vulnerable to spiritual attack and that interfere with the flow of our power and our magic. Here are a few ways to heal your inner child through catharsis!
Laughter or Crying: Watch something lighthearted that makes you laugh or cry tears of joy. Watching a good film (with happy endings 😊) where you see yourself and your story reflected on screen is such a good tool for healing your inner child.
Singing and Dancing: Singing activates SO many chakras at once. The root, sacral, solar, throat, and heart! Sing (even if you're bad at it) to help get stagnant energy flowing again + move heavy energies out of the heart and sacral chakra. Dancing is especially good for people who experience shame or guilt around their sexuality and/or gender.
Coloring, Drawing, and Painting: Don't underestimate the power of a coloring book when it comes to relieving stress and anxiety, moving stagnant emotions out of the body, and GROUNDING. Put on some gentle background music while you color and let your stressors fall away.
Tantra Touch/Self-Massaging: When your inner child is in need of TLC, sit in a comfortable position, grab some nicely scented oil, and gently touch/massage tender points on the body like your shoulders, your feet, your neck, your calves, and etc. while saying gentle words of affirmation.
Inner Child Affirmations:
*I'm sorry for the tough things you experienced.
*You are safe. I'm here with you.
*I am proud of you for carrying me where I am today.
*I honor you and am committed to doing the things you need to feel safe.
*I listen to you and trust your guidance.
*Thank you for persisting through hard times. Without you, I wouldn't be who I am now.
*Things got better for us and will continue to get better for us.
*I promise to nurture you in hard times.
*I will always respect how you feel.
*You got us so far! It is now my turn to lead us to a safer, freer, and more grounded life. We will be fine!
Love you all! ❤️
