archea再録３の作業進捗報告

こんにちは、笹川ながるです。

11月末から「archea再録3」の作業を再開しておりました。そこから約1ヶ月が経ち、ほぼすべての作品のフォントや背景の修正を終えました。また、宣伝用の画像も作成し、昨日、DLsiteさんとFANZAさんに販売申請を行いました。

途中で体調を崩してしまうこともありましたが、なんとか来年1月1日には配信できそうです。まだおまけイラストの差分作業が残っていますが、お待ちいただいていた皆さんにようやくお届けできると思うと、一安心です。

さて、「フォントの修正」とは具体的にどのようなものかというと……例えば以下のようなものです。

かつて使用していた「コミスタ」というソフトには標準で入っていたフォントが、現在使用している「クリスタ」では使用禁止になっているため、すべてゴシック体に置き換わってしまいます。また、一部の文字効果も消えてしまうことがあります。上記の例で言うと、「火神のせいで悪化した」の部分の縁取りがなくなっているのがその一例です。

とはいえ、昔のファイルが使えるだけでもありがたいのですが……！

このような問題をひとつずつ解決しながら、フォントを修正したり、背景のマスクが消えている箇所を直したり、黒棒修正を追加したりと、細かい作業を進めてきました。

約1ヶ月にわたる修正作業は、長いようであっという間でした。

作業を進める中で、火神くんや他のキャラクターをまた描きたい気持ちが湧いてきました（モブ攻めも含めて……）。大なり小なり、何か新しい作品を作れたら良いなと思っていますが、どうなるかは自分でも楽しみにしています。

ひとまず、ご報告まで。

作業中には、当時の下書きの荒々しさと完成版のクオリティの差に感動したり、思わず笑ってしまったりする場面もありました。そのとき撮ったスクリーンショットがあるので、それは別の記事で改めてお見せしたいと思います。

Hello, this is Nagaru Sasagawa.

Since the end of November, I’ve been working on the third installment of the "archea" reprint series. Over the past month, I’ve managed to complete most of the font and background adjustments for the works. I also created promotional images and submitted the files for approval to DLsite and FANZA just yesterday.

Although I had a few setbacks due to health issues, I’m relieved to say that the release is on track for January 1st next year. There are still a few tasks left, such as completing the alternate versions of the bonus illustrations, but I’m thrilled to finally deliver this to everyone who’s been waiting.

Now, you might wonder what exactly “font adjustments” entail. Let me give you an example.

In the past, I used a software called "ComicStudio," which came with standard fonts. However, those fonts are now prohibited in the software I currently use, "Clip Studio Paint." As a result, they are automatically replaced with a default Gothic font. Additionally, certain text effects, like the outlines in the phrase "It got worse because of Kagami," also disappear.

That said, I’m still incredibly grateful that I can access these old files at all!

To address these issues, I’ve been going through and fixing the fonts one by one, restoring missing background masks, and adding black bars for content adjustments. It’s been a meticulous process.

The month-long journey of corrections felt both long and short at the same time.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported me and those who followed my updates on streaming platforms and Twitter. The letters I received at the time of the original release also gave me strength. Thanks to all of you, this work has been truly enjoyable.

While working on this project, I found myself wanting to draw Kagami and other characters again (including mob-centric pairings...). Whether big or small, I hope to create something new, though even I’m curious to see what might come next.

For now, this is just a quick update.

During the process, I couldn’t help but laugh and be amazed by the stark contrast between the rough drafts from back then and the finished versions. I even took some screenshots of these moments, which I plan to share in a separate post.
