First Month in Review! (January)

Thanks again to all of you for supporting us and our work! We're glad that we've gotten such a good response from people like you: your support helps us dedicate more time towards making translations like these!

We spent a few days releasing a patch for Chapter 2 for Shrift 2 to update it to the newest version, covering the intro to Ch2 and a lot of the new Ch1 additions, releasing it on January 18th. After that, we then spent a few days setting up the Patreon and supporters Discord Server, as well as prepping for the work we need to do for the full Chapter 2 translation. This means we got about a week and a half of work in at the end of the month on the patch proper.

When I set up everything for work on the translation, I usually do a quick playthrough of new content, mentally breaking it down into "chunks" that we can do, one piece at a time. These aren't perfectly equal, but they give an idea of how much work is ahead of us and how we can space it out. From this, we can figure out how much progress we're making and a relative window on when a patch could be released.

Here's the rough board for the main story of Chapter 2. I've redacted most details so you won't be spoiled:

--------------------------------------------------

√ Plot interlude
√ Dungeon 1 (Part 1)
o Dungeon 1 (Part 2)
x Plot stuff.
x Plot stuff.
x One Night with DEVIL.
x Plot stuff
x Dungeon 2 (Part 1)
x Dungeon 2 (Part 2)
x REDACTED
x REDACTED
x REDACTED
x Epilogue

Demons:
0/3 Rose
0/3 Trio
x Melty Ooze
x Mantis

x Tip Boards

2/22 Complete
*Subject to change as we find missed things and Alan updates the game with new content.
*Jurai-gumo(spider) is side content, so their questline won't be in our first release.
-------------------------------------

Over the next month, we should be able to get a read on what our velocity is and how fast we're getting through work.

Thanks again for all your gracious support! Spread the word out there: the more support we get, the more time we can devote towards getting our translations out in a timely manner. This isn't a full or even part time job for us, so any help so we can put more effort into this is appreciated. Thanks a ton!
