New NJB: Shinjuku Station

I'm back from Japan and I have my first (of several videos) ready to go! I visited the world's busiest train station, Shinjuku station in Tokyo. This station transports 3 MILLION people every day!

Shinjuku station is really interesting because it isn’t just a ridiculously efficient transportation hub, it’s also an excellent example of how an effective train station can make the surrounding neighbourhood truly great.

My trip to Japan was great, and I got lots of footage that will show up in future videos. While I was out East I also decided to stop by Taipei for a few days, so I hope to have a video about that in the future as well!

Thanks so much for your support: there's no way I could afford a trip like this if it wasn't for my supporters on Nebula & Patreon, so thanks!

When you said “there is literally no other way to move 3 million people a day…a highway moving that many people a day would have to be WELL over 50 lanes, and at that point, there’d be no city left,” I immediately heard almost every North American traffic engineer in my head saying “hold…my…beer!”
