Not Just Bikes is now on Nebula

Hello everyone!

I have recently joined Standard, the company behind the streaming service Nebula, which means that my content is now available there.

Nebula is not a normal streaming service, and I was not really aware of them until fairly recently. Instead of being owned by a company, Nebula is owned and operated by the creators themselves; kinda like a worker co-op. This means that it's way more creator-friendly than YouTube. In terms of both policies and revenue sharing.

There are lots of creators on there that you may already be watching, like City Beautiful, Tom Scott, Real Engineering, Wendover Productions, Practical Engineering, and many more.

I'll be making a video about Nebula and why I joined shortly.

Anyway, if you're interested in joining, you can use my discount code for 40% off ($3/month) by going to:

https://nebula.app/notjustbikes

Alternatively, you can subscribe to CuriosityStream (who partner with Nebula) for $11.59 per YEAR (for the first year) and get Nebula for free if you use the coupon code "NOTJUSTBIKES" by going here:

https://curiositystream.com/notjustbikes

The CuriosityStream deal is actually insanely good and I still don't understand why they make it so cheap. I signed up to them a few months ago using a City Beautiful discount code and it's been great.

Most of the Nebula content will be the same as my YouTube content, but of course it's all ad-free. I will be making some Nebula original films with their production crew in the future, but I don't plan to do any of those until I can get back onto a reasonable schedule with YouTube videos (my goal is 2 main videos + 1 Patreon video per month).

I will be posting videos to Nebula early (like on Patreon) but I suspect Patreon will still get them first because I tend to upload near-final drafts here, instead of waiting for final drafts to go to Nebula.

Anyway, that's it; my stuff will be available on Nebula, ad-free now. Depending on why you're supporting the channel, you may want to downgrade your Patreon tier and sign up to Nebula/CuriosityStream, but I'll leave that to you.

Let me know if you have any questions! :)

Thanks,

Jason

I pay for YouTube premium, because I find better content on it than on other streaming services, and can't stand ads. I've had Nebula for ages, but haven't found myself on there much, in part because the videos are just copies of what's on YouTube, and in part because search seemed harder. I just installed the app; I'll see if things have gotten better. Willing in principle, but so far it's seemed a small sunset if what's on YouTube. Also slightly annoyed, as I just paid annual for Patreon, after a pitch for it on a NJB video only a few months old, and do watch bonus videos on other Patreons, generally stuff that's only of interest to afficianados (e.g., special Cracking the Cryptic puzzle or setter content, or early Mentour Pilot releases).

Oh, that's cool! I'm glad people can start finding it on Nebula! Thanks for the support!
